We just went to SF for our vacation, and at the last minute, I was so lucky that I've booked motel 6 as my home in SF. Before our arrival, my daughter google online n found many reviews about the motel. She's so worried as those reviews said that this motel was not good, in dangerous area, very noisy, dirty....... My husband, myself and another couple stayed here in September of 2013 for 4 nights (wed, thurs, fri, sat). We had never been to san fran before and weren't familiar with the districts. This is in the tenderloin. It's basically the ghetto. At night time there are a lot of homeless people around the hotel. Honestly, I had my husband... More

I scoured the internet to find a reasonably priced hotel in San Francisco, and the best I could find was about $120 a night for a room with a shared bath. Air bnb has some lower prices, but one usually sacrifices privacy. For $115/night, I received a clean, air conditioned room. Motel 6 is like the McDonald's of hotel chains,... More

So this hotel tries. But they can't do anything about the location and ALL the homeless people around this hotel. It was a very sketchy neighbourhood. I wasn't comfortable being outside at dark here. The elevators are located outside of the building and you need a room card to get them to work, but I wasn't comfortable with anyone riding... More

Okay ppl if you are not from the area make sure to do ur homework. Location is "okay" but the WiFi on the 3rd floor sucks big time so make sure you book your room close to the office. I do like the fact that you need the room key to get on the elevator which means no strangers from... More

Best location, best front desk staff, newly renovated rooms, great price. Very safe. Near the best Vietnamese food. Public transit at your door. I will stay there again. Can walk to downtown. Near the shops and cafes on Polk.

As others have said, this neighborhood is pretty dirty and rough, and not the prettiest in SF. That being said, we stayed for two nights and walked around everywhere with no problems. Parking was free which was a huge benefit, and the room was clean. This was a bare bones, no frills place, but was convenient to many popular tourist... More

A group of us ,11 ,none under the age of 60 , stayed here late last year. It was so handy and safe and the people were nice too. A lovely breakfast was included. So close to all shops and bus and resturants

This hotel is located in the Little Vietnamese area which is close to the border of the Tenderloin district.. very seedy, very dirty area. The staff who checked me in were very rude and couldn't find my reservation. I saw a big spider in the bathroom and there were filthy blackened towels from dirt. I was too scared to sleep... More

Our stay at this Motel 6 was just fine. After experiencing a stressful situation of taxes, fees and deposits trying to book a room at Holiday Inn, I gave this Motel 6 a call and they graciously gave us a 10% discount after expressing our frustration about the Holiday Inn. No frills and extra charges, they got us in quickly... More
