Nice location near union square and cable car ligne. Breakfast is included with the choice of eggs or french toast as well as orange juice and coffee. The room is decorated to the glory of Jeanne d'Arc Small room at the entrance where you may relax and have coffee free. Internet is included.

This is a small hotel, perfectly located on Bush Street and within walking distance of almost every thing. Rooms are small but perfectly formed, the lift is from another age but works well, painted walls and ceilings are an artistic delight. Dining occurs in the basement but somehow feels very provincial. French toast for breakfast was the bomb. Staff are... More

This Hotel very nice. We chose this hotel from other review's and were not let down. Was close to everything being in Union Square. Room was small but very nicely decorated, all we needed as a older couple. Staying here you really get the feel of what a hotel in France would be like. The whole place is beautifully decorated.... It's nice to stay in a hotel with it's own special style and this hotel is quite unique. Style is sort of "shabby chic" with some beautiful folk art paintings on walls, doors and ceilings. French music plays to support the French theme and the elevator is amazing. Our room was small but comfortable, with no view at all, however,... More

I chose Cornell Hotel de France originally because of the price and location, both of which can't be beat. Just down the hill to Union Square and a few blocks east of Chinatown. I will go back because it is so charming and friendly. I was on the Etage Chagall and each door was painted with a Chagall-inspired motif. Other... More

The location is great at Powell/Bush, with a small walk to Union Square. Rooms are very small if you have a lot of luggage for Central European standards. Interior is very charming, though, with painter themes on each floor. The vintage elevator is priceless. Basically, if you can live with a small room, location and charm of this place make... More

We've stayed at the Cornell two times now. We appreciate the location and the hospitality. My only criticism is that our room had a quaint claw-foot tub/shower that was difficult to get in/out of. Both of us are agile folk, so it wasn't terribly difficult to negotiate, but I would imagine anyone more physically challenged might find showering a bit... More

We spent 4 days at this wonderful hotel. Breakfast set us up until evening, the decor was amazing. The staff so friendly and helpful. It was the start of our trip as we were moving on to a wedding in Las Vegas. I left my engagement ring at the hotel, when I rang they had already found it and had... More

The Cornell has a great location near Union sq! Great value for the money. We "only" paid 160$ per night for our room. That's about 50$ less per night than at the other hotels in the area. Nice rooms and bathroom was great. Friendly staff! Breakfast included in the price which was nice and made to order. The hotel has... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights here after cruise to Alaska from Seattle and almost a month in USA. We arrived at 10am after an overnight train ride from Seattle. And was exhausted after walking from Market street to the hotel with the uphill and seems to be endless street…fortunately there were drinks and coffee at the lounge that... More
