This small and quiet boutique hotel is all French. Each floor is named for a French painter and the walls are covered with the works of the featured artist. The restaurant in the basement is thoroughly themed like an old world castle. A classic old open cage elevator provides access to the upper floors unless you prefer the narrow winding... More

We had a very, enjoyable stay in this charming little hotel, excellent location. Our room was on the third floor, it was clean and the bed was comfortable, nice hot shower and good wifi. The staff gave excellent service, very helpful, advising the best and cheapest ways to see San Francisco. Breakfast was included and well worth having, only wish... More

A really wonderful little hotel. Despite the downtown location it was very quiet. No air conditioning required the windows to be open and the only sound we heard on occasion was the trolley car clanging. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and claw foot tub was a nice touch. We only tried breakfast- which was perfect, supper... More

Our room, at the top floor and facing the street, was charmingly furnished in subtle French flair; we are told that no room is alike in this small hotel, whose French (and particularly Jeanne d'Arc) theme is played out aesthetically, unobtrusively, with a pinch of humor and warmth. The room was pleasant, shower fine, bed comfortable, wifi smooth, and breakfast... More

We spent our honeymoon in Paris-this lovely hotel recaptured the aura of that place while putting us in the heart of San Francisco. It is within walking distance of The Embarcadero, the theater district, the financial district and cable cars. Every floor is decorated by prints of artists, the fourth floor, our floor is decorated in Chigall prints. The bathroom... More

Visited this amazing hotel, with my friends from our High School Pureza de Maria de Leon, Nicaragua after nearly 38 years of not seeing each other. We have had a fabulous school reunion in this marvelous hotel. Employees were very friendly, we really thank Jose. The rooms were very nice, clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very... More

This was a lovely little hotel very close to union square and a number of great little restaurants and other key San Francisco elements that was right up Powell St, one of the main streets in San Francisco. The hotel itself had a nice amount of little thoughtful touches like free coffee and tea plus a nice breakfast with hot... More

Spent the weekend in the city. We booked the hotel based on it's Trip Advisor reviews. Location is great but all else pretty much average. The room was very small, no AC or even heating control we could find. Room was clean except for mold in the shower stall. Will look for another alternative the next time in town. Breakfast... More

Dear knscott, Sorry you did not appreciate fully our small Cornell Hotel. We sincerely apologize for the " mold"...May be, my office being located on the first floor, it could have been reported to us right away, solving the problem and avoiding us to learn your misfortune on Trip Advisor.. The breakfast is not included in the price of our... More

Very affordable for San Francisco. Rooms are on the small-ish side but are delightfully decorated. Claude is a charming gentlemen and the other staff were lovely and provided a lot of good information about getting around and what to see. Good location in that is close to cable car if you want to head to the waterfront. Breakfast was lovely... More
