We had a gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our room. Were on the 9th floor, right next to the elevator and hotel was very quiet! A little road noise but not unexpected in a busy city. Breakfast had everything we needed, clean and neat, fully stocked and efficient staff. Front desk staff was helpful. Some mornings were... More

Our stay here was fantastic. The staff was wonderful. The view from our room on the top floor was sinsational. Sarah, the front desk woman was so helpful on guiding us around Frisco by foot. We were there 4 day and never used our car. Great breakfast. Looking forward to staying here again.

I chose this hotel for it's great location in the marina district: Lombard St., Russian Hill, Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field, etc. We were on the 11th (top) floor, and the room, while unremarkable, was clean and had a very nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I booked through Expedia, and didn't recall that I chose a particular room,... More

We had a room with "single beds, no view." Beds were almost double sized and very comfortable. Room was typical for hotel rooms and very clean. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to provide a map and directions for getting to various locations around the city. Hotel is conveniently located on bus lines. We would definitely... More

Nice little hotel close enough to fishermans wharf to walk to but far enough away to be nice and quiet very close to Lombards street crocked street just up the hill (very steep hill) had an issue with the first room as looked into someone's living room window and after checking with reception they checked and couldn't move the room... This hotel is not worth the money. The air conditioning in the room did not work, the rooms are small and the personnel was not interested. The hotel provides a lousy breakfast and there is no space to eat your breakfast. At departure the hotel tried to charge us for cost we did make.

Not too happy overall, but if you don't want to pay a fortune in San Francisco, that's a decent choice. At around 279 dollars/night you would expect a bit more but it's just not there. Breakfast area feels more like a smoky motel, people rush in madness in a rather small area. Parking is rather expensive at 26 dollars plus... More

My father and I stayed here on our road trip from SF to LA. I normally stay at Starwood properties, but the hotels were quite expensive and Comfort Inn is my budget brand of choice. I wish I had payed more for the Le Meridien. The room wasn't bad, but it was the smallest I have ever stayed in. The... More

Good value compared to hotels in the same area of a similar price bracket. Large clean rooms (some with a view of the bridge). Tea and coffee-making facilities in room. Basic breakfast, but can easily be supplemented by stuff from the nearby Whole Foods.

Good location for walking to sites and the view from my room on the 10th floor was wonderful. Sandy at the front desk was helpful. However, the breakfast selections were extremely poor and not varied. While there was coffee available during the day and at night, there was only powdered packets of cremora-like substance instead of liquid cremora or the... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
