We stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon last week. When we asked if we could get any of the upgrades our travel agent asked for we were told no because the hotel is too busy. Fair enough I understand hotels get busy but there wasn't even a note or anything to congratulate us. I thought if they couldn't... More

We stayed here in our final days in America. Defiantly get the bay side view as we didn't and got to look at a building the whole stay. The wharf isn't far from the hotel which was great to walk along at night. Lots of funky bars and restaurants close by for breakfast or drinks at night. Hotel was clean... More

we spent five days in beautiful San Francisco last week and chose Comfort Inn by the Bay as our hotel. We used my husband's choice privileges points. Had we paid cash, we likely would have chosen to stay elsewhere. The hotel offers "bay views" of the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a suite on the second floor, bay side. We... More

Hotel is a little dated but the room was a decent size and clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast is simple buffet self service but good although dining area can get quite crowded. Location is great though whether you are walking or relying on public transport as fairly close to main tourist areas of attractions - 20 minutes walk to... More

Great place to stay. The rooms are fine for everyone. The breakfast is great. The parking is a plus. Great location. Walkable to Ghiradelli square. When we stay we walk to dinner then walk up Lombard street back to the hotel. There are great views. Easy to get to the 101 for the rest of our trip. We will stay... More

The hotel is in a good location, 15 minutes walk from the Bay, and the famous Lombard Street. It’s clean but basic, no frills, and seems to have not been updated in 25 years or so. The Wifi was terrible, basically unusable, so don’t consider this if you’re on a business trip. Breakfast was rudimentary. An OK place to stay,... More

I've stayed here 3 different times over several years. Comfort Inn by the Bay is definately on a downhill slide. My most recent stay was last April. The pro of staying here is the location. The con list is longer... rude, unfriendly staff, horrible parking garage to maneuver, rooms unimpressive, and windows FILTHY!!! I did complained to the management and... More

Stayed here for 1 night and glad it was only 1 night. My room was noisy- given there is a noisy bar near by, the window did not close - had to call reception past 11pm to ask for help and even they were unable to close it, and it was far too warm - so the broken window which... More

My room (1109) was on the top floor with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, harbor, and city, so the view was spectacular. The hotel is on the corner of Lombard St. and Van Ness Ave, so there is a lot of traffic, but being on the eleventh floor, I was not disturbed. It is about a 10 minute... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
