We asked for a high room with a view of the Golden Gate bridge. On our last night we caught the sunset behind the bridge. Awesome. The room was typical for a two star hotel. But it was clean and the breakfast was much better than expected. Be prepared for a lot of road noise. Use a noisemaker app on... More

The room is comfortable, but this hotel is in a very busy street and the windows have very poor sound proof, it feels like one is sleeping in the middle of the cars. We could also easily hear our neighbors, an issue we had only in this hotel, during our LA - San Francisco trip ( we stay in total... More

The room was a bit dated and was dreary to stay in. The worst part was the breakfast buffet. The scrambled eggs were these weird round things that didn't look appetizing at all. They advertised hard boiled eggs but they were never put out even when we asked and the server said they would have them the next day. This... More

This was a nice place to stay. The location was good-right on Lombard St. and just a short walk to the wharf. The rooms and beds were somewhat small, but fine. There was parking in a garage underneath for our rental car, and even though spaces were limited we always got a spot. The staff was very helpful.

We had a two room king suite. All of the suites are on the 2nd floor. These rooms do not have views. While the size of the rooms were very good the condition was just average. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and Wifi were free. Garage parking is $26 a day. We used Lorrie's shuttle to get to and... More

Everything was fine, staff was friendly, continental breakfast was a big plus and a reason we stayed here, but bathroom wasn't as nice as some comfort inns I've been to. It was clean, just getting old, and I like to have an exhaust fan, so while a minor issue... something it lacked.

The location is great. Excellent breakfast and an amazing view. The room was clean and the location was perfect for us. In walking distance to aquatic center and fishermans wharf The dining area was large & well maintained.

Pros - the view of the Golden Gate Bridge and city is fantastic. Rooms are perfectly fine. One block away is the lovely Lombard Street. This hotel is a good tourist choice. Mids - while this is within walking distance of Fisherman's Warf, note it is up and down steep San Francisco hills. Cons - as with all San Francisco... More

The hotel is in a good location if you are going to Alcatraz or the Golden Gate. It looks nice from the street. Our room was a suite on the second floor. Not surprisingly, it was pretty noisy at night from the streets outside, so either bring your earplugs, or ask for a room on the upper floor. The room... More

Not happy....have tried reaching the manager and left several messages now with no returned calls. I had a severe allergic reaction in one of the rooms (we feel they may have been fumigating for bugs below us this night which caused it) and have not recovered any calls or compensation. We paid full price despite a scary experience. The poor... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
