We enjoyed everything about this hotel, from the friendly greeting we received upon check-in, to the comfortable room, to the nightly free wine reception. We came back and enjoyed it even more than when it opened. Service was exceptional and friendly and the place was packed. The daily wine tasting with live music was fun. Location is ideal if you like to walk. Visit the Fly next door for a snack and you won't be disappointed. more

I always stay here when I am visiting SF, which is about 2-3 times a year, and will always stay here. It is affordable, clean, and has a friendly staff. I amost don't want say too much because I might have to find a new place when this one becomes popular. more

The Hotel Carlton continues to give great service at an excellent price. We have stayed here twice now over the last few years, and plan on making it our base of operations everytime we visit SF. They even take dogs! more

Spent two nights here in June 2009. We were met by a very friendly and helpful front desk, just what you need after an 11 hour flight.
