Excellent hotel. Clean inside and friendly staff. Stayed a week. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Remember this hotel is downtown. Like other big cities I've stayed in name brand hotels, you have city noise. This is nothing unusual for a downtown hotel. Once inside the hotel, I never heard another guest even though I know they were there. There... More

This hotel is vert close to the trolley, streetcars, and BART. Shopping and good restaurants with reasonable prices are also close. Also, there were many homeless people in the area. I was awaken at 3 a.m. by a homeless person singing loudly at the top of his voice. I do not know what he was singing and do not think... More

I actually loved staying here but it might not be for everyone. The décor is really interesting. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I had an pretty funny experience with Jeff which included my wife. By the end of it, we were all laughing hysterically! A very nice person. Breakfast was inexpensive and reminded me of the style... I booked this hotel for three nights for my vacations in San Francisco, and this is a small hotel but very good location, you can walk to all tourists places and the Powell train station is on the corner, the service at the checking in was excellent and fast with a glass of wine. The front desk people are very... More

One of the many mid-price hotels west of Union Square, and better than most. Certainly great value. Clean rooms, great staff (Thanks JR - you the man!), movie themed rooms and halls. But getting tired - needs a renovation (I understand it is getting one soon). On the edge of the Tenderloin - lots of noisy homeless people (America's shame).... More

The good news about the Bijou: The room was clean, the staff were accommodating, the price was terrific. It's also, in one way, in a perfect location: a block from the BART and Muni trains and every imaginable bus line, a short walk to the financial district and Chinatown, and only a bit further to the Ferry Building and AT+T... In a good spot near to Union Square and Moscone Centre. Staff were friendly, room was clean and tidy but the wifi was very flakey. This was a let down when you want to keep in touch with a Skype call and keep getting booted. They let me store my bags for the afternoon. It turns really noisy at night... More

The Bijou is located in downtown San Francisco, pretty close to the central business district, restaurants and shops. However, the rooms are really tiny, cramped, and the surrounding area outside the hotel isn't particularly clean. Be prepared for loud street noises through the night. They have good WiFi in the rooms, and 24 hour coffee and hot beverages. The breakfast... More
