Good Place to stay for a place like SFO. Its cheap and close to the downtown. The best part is the Breakfast options in the morning. You may take a walk along the street to the downtown. however, the street has many traffic lights...

The only good thing about this place is that Trader Joe's is down the street, but don't walk alone lots of street people. The young lady that checked us in was rude, but the young lady that checked us out was very nice. The room was ok I guess but the sofa in it was dirty as was the carpet.

We stayed here on our week long trip to San Fran. Initially upon arrival to the area I was a little worried, but after walking around a little bit my worried eased up. Yes - it can be a little hard at times, lots of street people, garbage and homeless people on the streets, however we never once had an... More

Stayed here with family. Room was okay and reasonably priced. It is well located for visiting San Fransisco.. Make sure you have your Uber account set up, food delivery app etc as there is not much nearby. There is a sports bar and a restaurant.. HOWEVER you have to be comfortable with the street down and outs. If you have... More

A friend who lives in San Fran recommended this motor inn as a cheap clean place to stay in the city. Compared with other places this place is a steal and is in a reasonable location and walkable to market street/union square area. There is a Trader Joe's down the street and looks like there are some developments being built.... More

OK this is not a Hilton hotel by any means but its a reasonable price with large rooms. This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area. We checked in with no problems and we were surprised at the size of the room that we go on the upper floor. It was massive Plenty of... More

Ended up charging us for parking though it says its free. Rooms are nothing what the picture looks like, all in all bad service. Location is in a shaddy neighborhood, and the staff is rather not accommodating.

This place is good for what it bills itself as. Clean rooms, easy check in, good breakfast. We stayed our first night after arriving in SF before taking off for Redwood National Park. It did the job just fine. Don't know if I'd want to stay in this neighborhood for an extended period of time, but it was good for... More

I had only two "problems": the wifi is AWFUL i could even say that there is no wifi in the hotel and the other problem is that I stayed in the first floor and my room was very close from the street so at night we can see and listen people walking around... I felt scared! Its not that save... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
