Front desk staff and breakfast room staff were excellent. Room was clean, price was great. Convenient location. WiFi was out the first two days, that was the only problem. That could be a big problem normally but was able to use my cell phone as a hot spot for my work stuff. The WiFi was working fine on my last... More

From the moment we arrive, it felt like we were under siege. Creepy people on the street, in the parking lot, checking into the hotel (drunk guy with bloodied face), ....and Trannies going in and out of the rooms. Not the best side of SF. It felt like a movie set for a low level crime story. Can we at... More

This was a good find for us and very affordable and a large parking lot right outside our room. The decor is rather old but was good for one night in San Francisco. The staff was very friendly. I was surprised they said they were putting a security deposit ? on my credit card which would be refunded. I never... More

San Francisco is not a cheap city compared to other big city's in the US. We chose this hotel because it has parking facilities and the low price. The rooms were very clean and decent. You shouldn't have breakfast but for the rest the hotel is good.

The room was average size with breakfast included and there was a small pool. Unfortunately the rest is negative. When we got there they couldn't accept our prepaid travel card to pay for the stay so we had the option of a credit card from home (additional charges for bank) or cash (charges to withdraw). We made the wrong choice... More

There's a handy bus stop around the corner. The wi-fi worked in the room. There were tea & coffee-making facilities in the room & also a microwave which worked. The clothes-washing facilities outside worked also. There was a help-yourself continental breakfast with DIY toast & waffles. I friendly lady helped with the waffle machine. Don't confuse this place with the... More

Every thing is very good except the Wi-Fi internet speed was very slow and dropping very often. So if the internet access is not very important factor, the place is great for the price and location. Breakfast was included and quite good. Civic center/City Center was in walking distance. If the owner improves the internet access in every rooms with... More

The Civic Center Motor Inn is a great location if you want to be near the bars and such on Harrison and Folsom (Lone Star, Stud, Eagle, etc.) but this is a slightly renovated "vintage" motor inn in a tight spot. Rooms are small but clean, and bathroom has been nicely renovated from original. AC, heat and WiFi did not... More

Stayed two noisy nights after booking this room through Priceline Express Deals. Disappointed that Priceline steered me to this noisy motel in SOMA. The door frame and windows let all the outside noise from the street traffic and nearby construction in causing two sleepless nights. The only plus was the room size and cleanliness for the price in S.F. but... More

Booked this hotel because it was near to Hertz where we wanted to pick up the rental and because the local tour we booked provided a free pick-up from here. It is a decent hotel, with breakfast provided. Rooms and bathrooms were all clean. The only complain we have is that the Wifi connection was rather weak and we could... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
