This place is good for what it bills itself as. Clean rooms, easy check in, good breakfast. We stayed our first night after arriving in SF before taking off for Redwood National Park. It did the job just fine. Don't know if I'd want to stay in this neighborhood for an extended period of time, but it was good for... More

If you value your lives and wish to stay in a safe friendly environment STAY AWAY THIS THUG & DRUG INFESTED ENVIRONMENT!!!!!!!! From the check in process to the check out process the entire process was bungled. We stayed here because of a manager refusing to follow protocol and cancelling our reservation at another establishment. The entire stay was a... More

I had only two "problems": the wifi is AWFUL i could even say that there is no wifi in the hotel and the other problem is that I stayed in the first floor and my room was very close from the street so at night we can see and listen people walking around... I felt scared! Its not that save... More

If you book with Expedia or bookaroom.com you will get value for money, but the price they charge at the hotel seems a bit steep. It was value for money for us. Large clean bathroom, queen size bed, fridge, tv, microwave and heater. Breakfast was pretty average, but there are so many restaurants nearby you don't need to stay for... More

My Family and I visited San Francisco for some business and needed a near by place to stay so we booked one night with Civic Center Motor Inn as it was 2 blocks from our goal. Pro: 1) Location . 2) Breakfast. Was fair and one could stuff up. 3) Room was clean. Con's: 1) Staff during the check in... More

I stayed in here for three days. Condition is fair for the price of $57. Location is pretty good, near the City Hall. The only inconvenient thing is the neighborhood lack of convenient stores. They charge for parking :(

Overall affordable if booked ahead of time but I didn't like how there isn't any WiFi in the bedroom. Breakfast is OK but the location is kind of bad. Very clean rooms. I would suggest that if your on foot to arrive to the hotel before night time. Water to take a shower was very warm microwave refrigerator and phone... More

The room was big and fairly clean. The breakfast was terrible. The location is not the best but we had a car and there is free parking so it was fine. The pillows are really small and uncomfortable. The internet connection is slow. It is a good deal for the price, I would recommend it if you are on a... More

Front desk staff and breakfast room staff were excellent. Room was clean, price was great. Convenient location. WiFi was out the first two days, that was the only problem. That could be a big problem normally but was able to use my cell phone as a hot spot for my work stuff. The WiFi was working fine on my last... More

From the moment we arrive, it felt like we were under siege. Creepy people on the street, in the parking lot, checking into the hotel (drunk guy with bloodied face), ....and Trannies going in and out of the rooms. Not the best side of SF. It felt like a movie set for a low level crime story. Can we at... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
