Delightful hotel with great service and near downtown. Good location in proximity to transit lines and sites. (There is a bus pickup at the end of the street.) There is no restaurant in the hotel. Stayed here one night on business. Loved the hotel. Beautiful rooms and very spacious. Area was not bad. Easy walk to Union Square. The desk clerks we encountered were very friendly, reponded quickly to requests, and provided great directions. We asked to be moved from a street side room and were accomodated quickly. We stayed at the Carriage Inn on July 18th-20th. The hotel is not in the best part of Frisco but it's not the worst part either. The hotel room was very nice, large, and well kept. They served a very nice complimentary continental breakfast and newspaper, that comes to your door in the morning, like room service, free of charge.... more

I had to call the front desk about the noise coming from a party in the room above me at 12:20 AM. At 1:20 AM, with no relief, I went upstairs and verified that the noise was coming from the room in question and went to the front desk to complain in person. This hotel was not my first choice, having read some of the reviews about the neighborhood - which were accurate. However, I was traveling with a group, and lost the vote. Safety in numbers, any way. It seemed secure, once you were inside the hotel. I would probably stay in the Carriage Inn again, even if I were by myself.... more

The hotel was nicley appointed and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even checked us in early as our flight arrived early in the morning. The hotel is a very good value and close to the Moscone centre. I will be back! more

This was my second time to San Francisco but the first time staying at the Carriage Inn. Very impressed, staff from arrival very extremly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
