The best thing with this hotel is it is centrally located. We decided to walk most places and Fisherman's wharf, Chinatown, shopping areas and so on are within a maximum hours leisurely walk. The hotel is quite old and it shows in most places, but this adds some rustic feeling and character to the place. It's in good condition and... More

This is a 3 1/2 star as previously rated. The hotel is older but very clean. Beds were okay, no complaints with our room other than it was on the warm side even with the window open. We were on the 6th floor and facing the alley so a bit noisy. The hotel is old styled not contempary. We had... More

We went there when we were in San Fransisco. The hotel itself is really good: Nice rooms, clean bathroom ... But the staff was so unhelpful and even a little rude. Also parking is really hard there: It costs over $12 a night, and it seems to be too much work for the staff, at least that's what they make... More

Had to visit SFO on business and preferred down town accommodation, affordable. Costed me @$100 but the location is pretty good. All places walk able, food, bars. The room was a bit small for US standards, but hey, we are talking about downtown SFO. They are similarly sized as hotels I stayed in Hong Kong. The bath rooms dont have bath... More

I booked this hotel for the price and location. Location was great. Hotel was just okay. Room was small but I knew that beforehand. It was a bit noisy. My bathroom floor was not even with my room and moved. It was like being on a cruise ship or train. It almost looked like an addition to the room. Bathroom... More

Fabulous hotel close to Union Square. Walking distance to Macy's, restaurants and trams. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast is basic but enough to set you up for the morning

The central location near Union Square, Chinatown, and public transportation make the Beresford a very convenient hotel. The prices are good for a city hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. Breakfast is included, albeit simple, with coffee, cold cereal, croissants, muffins, and fruit. The rooms are clean and fairly quiet given the location. The housekeeping... More

You are in SF, so you expect rooms to be expensive. But at Beresford the value of your money is good. It has a nice position, the rooms are comfortable, and clean. And, wow, breakfast (even if simple) is included! Staff is very very nice.

The location is convenient for Union square, cable cars and several restaurants all within walking distance. The price is reasonable for central San Francisco. We had a queen room right at the back of the hotel. The room was clean and everything worked but sleep quality was poor due to noise from outside. The noise gets into the room too... More

We stayed here for a week from 2 March. Hotel was as expected for the price. Had a quick look at breakfast offering on the first morning and didn't bother for the rest of our stay. WIFI was good and staff friendly enough. Location near Union Square was a plus. The hotel has a weird smell that comes from either... More
