Very expensive as everything in San Francisco. Very well located near union square, near public transportation. The hotel does not offer parking and the breakfast is poor. Like the parking lot are very expensive and there are a lot of options of restaurants and fast food shops, this is not a problem.

I stayed here for one night in August while on vacation with my wife and infant son. The staff was friendly and the location was great (steps away from Union Square). The room, although small, was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was decent. The parking was affordable too (more so than other hotels) and I had no trouble getting my... More

We stayed in this hotel twice during our 10 day trip (due to a midweek trip elsewhere) the first had only 2 single beds available and the second a queen sized bed, both on the 7th floor. The hotel is at a good location, 2 mins walk away from Union Square, 5mins from the trolley cable car (get there early... More

Room for 3 people was too small especially with 3 suitcases also. TV remote batteries died and we had to buy our own or go without until the next day. Toilet blocked which was fixed but overall after all getting flea bites not a great experience sorry. The location was ok although didn't feel too safe at night walking around.... More

I much prefer history and charm to high style and the Hotel Beresford is a wonderful find. I stayed there almost 40 years ago and it hadn't changed a bit (up dated niceTV). Our room was clean and simple with two very comfortable twin beds. Little fridge with refreshments (2.75 for a beer). The staff was very welcoming and helpful... More

This hotel was in a good position for accessing the city. The room was very small but clean and comfortable. The staff were not helpful and breakfast was very disappointing but the rate was good so I guess you get what you pay for.

This hotel is on the older side but for the price I was happy. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the housekeeping service good. We hung the 'privacy' sign on our door a couple of days, simply because I do not think it necessary to have sheets and towels changed each day ( wouldn't do it at home... More

I stayed at the hotel for a week at the end of December. The hotel is located in an old and charming building. The location is excellent and it's nice to be able to sit down at the bar at the end of the day for a drink or two. Our room was spacious enough and everything working as it... More

The staff are very pleasant and it is very cheap for this part of town. However, our room had some quite bad staining on the bed base and carpet. There was a problem with the window blind which had obviously had many failed attempts to rectify the issue judging by all of the staples. This meant we had to leave... More

We stayed here for four days before renting a car and driving down the PCH. This English-style hotel is comfortable and clean even though the carpet and decor is dated. We stayed right before Christmas so the decorations were up and it was very pretty. Our room was tiny, but the bed was comfortable. There is no A/C: OK for... More
