Good location in downtown, close to Union Square. Breakfast buffet a bit basic, and eaten in the adjoining pub. Rooms very small but to be expected in a hotel close to the centre. Rooms at the front of each floor can be very noisy if you need to have the windows open. Nice old wooden staircase but a bit creaky... More

The hotel is located right around the corner from Union Square, there are tons of food/shopping options around and easy access to cabs/transport. My room was clean, a little small but it was fine for three guests. We had no air conditioning but a fan was provided and that was adequate, it was not a hot time of year. Our... More

I was just staying in San Francisco overnight and found Beresford to be a delightful experience. I took it upon my self to walk around the hotel and explore the various amenities. Everything was ship shape, the only cons were my loud neighbors and the thin walls. Aside from that, it is in a great location only a short walk... More

Didn't realize there is no air conditioning. I would have paid 100% more at another hotel if I had known. The mattress way too soft. Small updated bathroom but the toilet tank wouldn't stop refilling every 15 seconds. Asked front desk to check it and returned to same situation. My husband said he'd had same problem when he stayed last... More

This is a decent hotel, situated a few mins walk from Powell street train station which runs directly to the airport .. There are lots of food eat close by.. The rooms are big and spacious with decent TV.. Only issues were the staff at reception were really poor, very unhelpful and rude. We could hear lots of noise at... More

the location is great close to Union Sq. The staff is nice but standard is unfortunately what you can expect. The breakfast is a joke! We regret that we didn't choose to pay more for higher standard. The cleaning of the rooms was ok. Wifi good! The hotel is not a catastrophe (except the breakfast), just low standard. Don't miss... More

We like this place. Simple as that. Room rates for SF are high and this gem has been consistently reasonable for the past ten years. No 5 star rating here and in fact it is a little stuffy but it is being renovated. When all you need is a clean, friendly place that offers a continental breakfast in the morning... More
