We had a 5 night stay which started badly in room 516, with a gap between the window and the frame, an ancient paint peeling non functioning radiator , sheets with yellow stains and an all night party going on upstairs. To be fair, the front desk did intervene with the upstairs gang when we complained, but they started up... More

Accommodation is not cheap in San Francisco! We booked months in advance and still struggled to find somewhere under £100 with its own bathroom. The Hotel Beresford is conveniently located just off Union Sq with easy access to trolley buses and the Powell-Hyde cable car. The hotel is a little run down but the staff are charming and we loaded... More

This hotel has the perfect location! Close to union square, Chinatown. We really enjoyed our stay. The room are comfortable and we loved the old fashioned decor. The staff is helpful and nice. However the breakfast is really simple not the best for sure.

The hotel is bit outdated but location is great couple of minutes away from union square and downtown area. However the front desk is very terrible and rude staffs are not friendly at all and very mean to respond no greets nothing. Plus they are also very slow in providing or checking in. Everyone is so slack.

My wife and I arrived to start a 3 week long honeymoon driving from San Francisco to Miami. We went for this hotel as the reviews seemed positive. What a horrendous start to the trip and we still have two nights left. Room is small, very dated and we have a fabulous view of some noisy industrial machinery of some... More

My wife and I are traveling with our college-aged sons for a ten day vacation in CA. San Francisco is our first stop. We picked this hotel for its central location and affordability. The staff are helpful, the happy hour with complimentary wine and cheese was pleasant, and our room was enormous. We were given what many would call a... More

We stayed here based on cost as it was very reasonable for San Francisco. The room was basic but the bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were to die for! Bathroom very clean, as was the room. The mini bar prices were the cheapest I had ever seen. A couple of wine glasses and a coffee maker would have... More

Firstly, if it is value and location you are looking for, this is absolutely on the button! It is just off Powell street, connected with all the trams taking you straight down to the Wharf, servicing the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Alcatraz and right by the stop from the BART from San Francisco airport. Union Square is just down... More

Like other reviewers, I'll echo the room size is a bit small, semi-funky smells, but for the location it's not a inconvenience. However, when I found none of the lights worked in my room, so I went back downstairs to inquire: "Did you flip the switch next to the door" yes. "Did you make sure the lamps were plugged in?"...
