the 2 double room was a bit small for 4 adults but given the reasonable price and the proximity to unpin square, it was well worth the squeeze. also, parking was about $30/ day with in/out privileges which is a bargain in SF Staff is very helpful and friendly

Stayed a couple of nights before we drove the Pacific Coast highway. Yes, it's a little dated but really comfortable and service was excellent. We got upgraded to a Parlour suite! Loads of room for four people , huge bathroom and spotlessly clean . There's a great Thai restaurant opposite which looks nothing but is fabulous! Give it a go.

We visited as a family and all enjoyed the lovely historical atmosphere in this hotel. It was comfortable and convenient and not at all stuffy or like a museum. Our room was comfortable and we had no particular problem with noise. The kitchenette was probably not terribly useful in a town like san fran where food is such an attraction... More

Conveniently located and reasonably priced, with incredibly attentive service. Clearly quaint and I wish the ice were available on all floors, but that's pretty minor when you are on a budget. Our bathtub in room 504 was pretty unusual in that you practically lie flat! Street noise is pretty high, but I always sleep with ear plugs, so not a... More

Older hotel, but lovely. Couple blocks of Union square, hop on hop off stops in front of hotel. They have wine and cheese in the afternoon, thats so Nice because you get to speak to other guests. Breakfast was also fine, fruit and Some pastries (and coffee to go!), enough to get you going. If I return to SF, I... More

Checking into this hotel was a lovely experience. tourist information was provided and luggage was taken promptly up to the room. The room was large and there bathroom included a whirlpool. We had a kitchen with full facilities. They offered to purchase items for our fridge at cheap prices. The hotel provides its guests with a happy hour experience each... More

The staff are excellent and when there was a problem with our room they upgraded us to suite on the same floor which was lovely. The top floor is the way to go and a room to the back. Reason. Very close to the Fire Station and sirens can go all night. Beautiful foyer. Nice free wine and cheese to... More

Just spent one night there and loved it. Was upgraded upon arrival which was a pleasant welcome. Lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Handy location and very friendly staff as nothing was too much trouble. Adequate breakfast and brilliant WiFi in your room.

The hotel offers excellent service, and it is reasonably priced. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Special features: a delicious brunch (pastries, fruit, coffee, tea) in the morning and a wine/cheese session in the afternoon. After spending the day sightseeing in the city, we looked forward to returning to the hotel in the evening. The staff... More

Comfortable Hotel in good downtown location. Good transport options and good shuttle services from airport. Hotel old but well maintained . Our room was large and had big bathroom with jacuzzi, small kitchenette with stove and microwave. Staff friendly and helpful. Fruit and pastries with tea and coffee provided for breakfast.
