My boyfriend and I went to San Francisco for a concert & we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. First of all, if you're taking a car, there is a $30+ a night parking fee 2 blocks away. The hotel is old, noisy, smelly- I've been to nicer hostels in Europe. The shower was so small and the water... More

You get what you pay for! Good location, but only stay here f you're on a tight budget. Our room had not been cleaned from the previous guests - unwashed bed sheets, dirty shower, full bin etc. next day I asked for towels as we had none in our room an I was told to "go and find the maids"... More

OK. This hotel is awesome. its a budget hotel that also makes you feel at home. Just stayed 3 nights with my boyfriend. Beds were made when we came back to the hotel and there were towels and bars of soap but no shampoo. The sound from the alley was loud but it was bearable. We went on a budget... More

I was in SF for a 4-day summit and was looking for a less expensive hotel for 4 nights near the hotel that was recommended for summit participants. Union Square Plaza Hotel was the cheapest hotel I could find and happened to be right next to the recommended hotel. I had a tight non-profit budget so instead of booking the... More

The only good thing about the hotel is it's location. Close to Union Sqaure and easy for commute and plenty of eating options. No fridge or water kettle/coffee inside the room. If one intends to spend most of their time outside and only needs a room and a bed to crash in at night is a good option considering the... More

The hotel is in a great position, right in the city center and close to shops, restaurant and theaters. Is very cheap so you cannot expect luxury rooms, they are quite small with old furniture but more than decent and cozy.

I was staying in San Francisco for a business conference and needed accommodation pretty central for a reasonable cost. If you look at this hotel purely from a location vs cost perspective then it would be overall good. However, as soon as you start applying any other factors the property falls down to the Average category. The decor is faded,... More

Admittedly, we weren't expecting 4-star quality for the price and location, but this likely ranks as one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The rooms were small, dirty, old, noisy, the hot water wouldn't work, the front desk wasn't consistently serviced, and the room is only serviced every other day. While centrally located near Union Square, the area didn't... More
