Love, love, love this hotel! My favorite place to stay in San Francisco. Located right off of Union Square so it is conveniently located to everything - shopping, great restaurants, etc. Definitely request a corner room on a higher floor (10 or above); the views are spectular.

The Serrano is a three-star-plus tourist hotel that is diagonally across the street from the big Hilton conference hotel near Union Square in San Francisco. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy ... it's not really family-friendly. The main reason to stay here would be if you're attending a conference at the Hilton or one of the other nearby conference hotels... More

Stayed in Serrano for 5 nights in August with husband and daughter. Prior to my 12hour flight to san fran I emailed the hotel twice asking for advise on transport from the airport and I got no response, I found this frustrating. Got a taxi and arrived to hotel check in was fine---had requested a feather free room on booking... More

We were very impressed with the room, it was very good value for money. We were a bit concerned about the area but we had no problems. You just need to be careful about which direction you walk in. There are doormen at the door which help with any safety concerns

We stayed here for two nights coming in from Napa and was at first wowed me when I walked into the lobby. The fake painted marble, red and gold walls and trimming and the friendly staff. However the room was really small, not to mention how tiny and poorly laid out bathroom. No towel bar near the shower no within... More

This hotel is located in a central street in San Francisco. Rooms are small but beds were comfy. The worst point I would mark is the bathroom which is extremely small. The hotel staff were very friendly. We didn't get twin beds as specified in our reservation, so they gave us free breakfast for our three days there which consisted... More

No doubt there are more trendy hotels in SF then Serrano, but the roomas are good, the beds are great and the location is excellent. Right down town almost at one of the stops from the hop on hop off bus. Be aware never accept a last minute cheap upgrade to one of the suites, we did. They are very... More

Hotel was old, but nice. Union Square area is right in front of hotel. Room was small, but clean. Staff was friendly and informative, but failed to deliver towels once when we requested more. Not a big deal -- and everything else was pretty good. We would stay there again.

Hotel has his good points. I liked the atmosphere and the suite I had was nice and specious. The hotel has however seen better days. For the price I paid I expected a bit more. The restaurant is however a totally different story. Recently done up is seems to have nothing to do with the Hotel in style or guests.... More

I've traveled my years and many times a year and this is my first review. It's all a lie the rooms are very very small, outdated, the bathroom is no bigger than the closet and the restaurant is a big 0. The personnel at the desk are kind at the check in but once you see your room and return... More
