We stayed here for 5 nights in November 2014 at the start of our round trip through the West. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips about where to eat, etc. It was very clean. The room was a good size, considering that San Francisco is a big city. The view was just superb. There`s... More

Nicely located downtown SF, fine rooms, very friendly reception! But: the bar is often closed, and if open, it closes really early. Also the Feinsteins was closed every night during our stay: very difficult to get a drink in the hotel!! Fortunately, across the street there is a new bar with a micro-brewery, good service and very nice bar-snacks/tapas. Also,... More

This was a nice hotel. I was there for a conference. The three nights of the conference in TOTAL was the same as the ONE night I stayed that was not part of the group rate. After charging an astronomical sum, they then want to start selling you "amenities" like wireless internet. OK, I KNOW San Francisco is one of... More

If you are having a conference in Moscone Center, this hotel has a good location, about 10 mins on foot the the conference center. I was upgraded to a room above average (probably overbooking) so my room was bigger than I ordered which was nice. Bathroom had both bathtub and a separate shower. A/C was working fine and was silent.... More

One of my most favorite hotels I've ever stayed in. Still reminisce about going back. We walked all over the city, didn't have to use a cab because the location is central to everything. The rooms were really nice, we asked for a room with a view when we checked in and so happy we did. Bedding was nice and... More

I have never stayed in this section of San Fran, and my husband and I found this was a great central location. Easy walk to shopping district, large indoor mall (thank God because weather was terrible!), lots of great restaurants within few blocks. Rooms were not luxurious but clean and comfortable beds. Luckily, hotel has a generator since this section of... More

Just average. The rooms are spacious for San Francisco, although as others have mentioned a little tired I did like the style. The welcome wine on arrival was a nice touch, although not particularly nice (probably too expensive for my taste). The location is just a couple of blocks from the main part of San Francisco, however once you have... More

I'm sure this was once a beautiful hotel. Now it's very dated. They were very accommodating with an early check in. The room was large for a San Francisco hotel but décor needs a complete face lift. Hotwire.com list this hotel as 4 star - I would rate it 3 stars. Bed was very comfortable. Area is a bit sketchy.

The hotel itself is very nice- decent rooms, great bathrooms and very helpful front-desk staff. It truly is right in the heart of the city. However, our 8th floor room was extremely loud at night with a nearby bar hosting karaoke. I would also note that the hotel is very close to the Tenderloin, a fairly sketchy neighborhood even in...
