This was my second time staying in San Fran, usually I stay with relatives and I remembered why after staying a couple nights near/in the tenderloin! The hotel is on a one way street and good luck if you miss it, you are going to be stuck in traffic forever if you have to circle back! It's really cute inside,... More

Booked this hotel for 5 adults through Expedia, was given 4 beds. Told by reception that even though we'd booked a room for 3 people, the website said it was for 3 people we should have called to tell them we wanted an extra bed. The hotel became increasingly annoyed, especially when we declined their offer of pillows and blankets... More

This is a lovely gem of a hotel - full of history and quaint touches that my daughter, aged 25, and I found charming. It has an somewhat old fashion elevator, a regular stair case, and a spiral staircase (this was my favorite. The area is what you should expect for a downtown location with a mix of businesses, weird... More

King George Hotel struck the perfect balance for our trip to San Francisco. We were looking for a central hotel that was a notch or two down from 'really nice'. Our room was small and a little dark but weren't there for the view! Guys on reception really friendly with plenty of recommendations for dinner and drinks. Try Bartletts Hall... More

Loved my stay at King George, it's central location makes it so easy to get around. Smacked right in the center of Union Square, but room is quiet and cosy- size is just right for 1 person. Would definitely stay there again the next time. Plus there is Loris' (24 hour diner), Walgreens and a Starbucks near by- u cannot... More

Me, my wife and two daughters stayed here for two nights. The hotel has just been renovated in Victorian style, right down to the fixtures, wall paper, and fire alarm system. The room was well lit, clean and the beds were so comfortable. When we arrived, our room was not ready and we had to wait 45 minutes but the... More

Clean hotel and staff very friendly and helpful. Loris next door is great for breakfast. Would suggest asking for a room on high floor towards the back as street outside can be noisy. Only drawback bit too close to tenderloin when returning late evening.

Hotel is centrally located to everything from shopping, dining, and walking distance to Chinatown and nearby trolleys, BART, historical streetcars, and muni buses to go to other attractions. Room is small but clean. Higher floor and away from main street will be more quieter. Don't expect closet to hang your coat, jacket, or clothes. No AC, however, a ceiling fan... More

Had I known ahead of time that a night club for the young and boisterous was practically next door, I never would have stayed here. We asked for a "quiet room". Hotel was well appointed, room small with twin beds, all ok there. The elevator didn't work very well at all. We went out for spectacular dinner at "Coqueta", came... More
