In a prime location, situated just two minutes from Union square, also there is great diners and eateries nearby. The hotel itself has excellent customer service at the reception desk. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall a pleasant stay, would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is an older hotel but with a great location near Union Square and all the good stuff around there. My room was very small, but fine for a single traveler. Only one elevator and no A/C in my top floor room, but window opened fully to take advantage of the breeze (kind of scary actually). 24-hour room service from... More

Set right off of Union Square, you can't get much more centrally located in San Fran. We were looking for a great jumping-off point to explore the rest of the city, so this worked well for us. You can get anywhere on foot within an hour (including the GG Bridge) and are right off of the BART/near buses, etc. The... More

We stayed at the King George for the first two nights of our trip to California. The location is great - a 5 minute walk to Union Square - and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Anne and Daniel couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Henry - head of housekeeping was also great when we realised we'd left... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel although basic was clean and suited our needs. The staff were very helpful and accomodating particularly the concierge Joseph and we were able to be booked into our room even though we arrived early. The rooms are quite small and the decor is a bit tired although they are comfortable. The... More

My friend and I stayed here for four days in July. The staff were really friendly and really approachable. Our room was quite dated and a bit musty. It was a small room, the paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom and the windows needed to be double glazed to cut out the noise. The noise was so... More

This hotel is a great option to stay with your family if you're looking for something nice, comfortable and friendly. First of all the staff was really friendly and they were always attentive and courteous to any necessity we had. The rooms are kind of old and small but I really didn't care because it didn't bother me at all... More

The hotel has a great location (numerous restaurants, bars, shops around the corner; esp my favourite jazz bar Les Joulins), but the hotel itselt is quite outworn: small rooms with peeling paint, old furniture, shabby and tiny bath rooms. The noise from the street was also loud. Note: The hotel is being renovated with illustrations of new design and furniture... More

I always enjoy a stay at a quaint hotel with it's own atmosphere, something one does not always get while staying in a large corporate hotel chain. Walking into the front door was a step back in time. The staff was excellent and helpful with their knowledge of the area and transportation, I would exact this at any hotel, however... More

I come to SF on business once or twice a year. Ive stayed in all of the Kimptons and others. This hotel was clean, homey, small (comfortably so), and the staff was very nice.
