Found this hidden hotel on line when I was looking for something near Union Sq. It was just 3 blocks away and close to the shops and restaurants in the area. Close to trolley car routes and some sights and neighborhoods. Great view from the upper floors. Good room service every day and very friendly and helpful staff.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at this hotel. The staff was very welcoming, parking with the valet turned out to be quite easy and the location was perfect. The room ,though small, was nicely furnished and met all of our needs. The jar of mints was a great touch. Being close to a variety of restaurants, bars and... More

Very disappointed...their rooms look nowhere near the pix on their website...knew I was in for disappointment when I entered the front door...chipped paint, dirty and tired....staff really could care less about accommodating....though near Union Square...not really Union Square...within 5 minutes of leaving hotel, solicited by beggars and hookers.......mind you.....the room was not cheap ($400/ night)......really disappointed....never again

We just needed a room to crash in after busy days sightseeing in San Francisco. At just over $100 per night during the holiday season, the King George fit the bill. It is a block from Union Square, and many restaurants and shops are within a short walk. (I do NOT recommend Lori's Diner next door, even with the discount... More

We had a bad experience with this hotel. The two days we stayed it was super cold. The heater never worked and we asked to fix or have a portable heat. It never happened. I won't never ever come back to this place.

I had a great time staying at this hotel on NewYears eve! It is a small, older hotel, cute and quaint. I had a small and cozy queen bed room, with full bath. Just love the charm of this hotel, from the old school elevator and tiny winding staircase, to their friendly and kind staff (Daniel/Reception, Luis/Wine Bar). This will... More

This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely tiny with low ceilings the best way to describe how miserable this room was is to imagine being cooped up in a telephone booth or small submarine for a whole weekend. The room was very dingy and dirty feeling. The air conditioner was so loud... More

Good things: -Location: has three 24 hour diners within the block. So great for families with picky eaters. -Immediate response from the front desk. Nora and Mr. Merham are professional and quick. Anyone from a handy man to a valet was at the call of Nora or Mr. Merham. -The concierge service was on their game. They knew where the... More

We brought our three grand children for the second year to see the Christmas lights, Santa at Macy's, Union Square, hotel lobby's i.e. Fairmont and St. Francis and ice skating in San Francisco. It's a wonderful way to enjoy the season thru their 'wide eyed wonder'. The King George is in a great location to quickly walk to all these... More

The first night at the hotel was a mess. I was sharing the room with a co-worker and they gave us a 1 bed room. Next morning they solve the problem, and moved us to a different room, and after that everything was ok. Yes, the hotel is noisy, but with homeless playing drums every night I doubt there are...
