Reading reviews of this hotel, I was concerned about the noise. It was the best deal we could find in the city, so I packed my earplugs and hoped for the best. We slept both nights with the window open and I barely heard any city noise! The room is small but well appointed and the hotel itself is charming.... More

Perfect location if you want to be in the center of it all. JR at the front desk went above and beyond to help us. Close to shopping, cable car lines and lots of really good restaurants. We had a lot of fun in the city. We would stay at King George again!

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to BART and bus / trolley services. Union Square, just around the corner, has a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops. Only negative is the rooms are a little pokey and the shower (in the room we stayed in) would not be suitable for anyone over 6ft tall!! Having... More

We found the staff to be very helpful, the hotel to be clean and well appointed. The location of the hotel just around the corner from Union Square excellent. A lot of people choose to stay at Fisherman's wharf but in my opinion you are in a much better location at Union Square and able to do a lot more... More

Being close to Union Square is expensive but you are paying for the location. Rooms (including the bathroom) are tiny but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Short walk to the cable cars (2-3 blocks) and BART (4-5 blocks).

This hotel is old, has no air conditioning, is very noisy to the point of not being able to sleep. I had some jewelry taken by the cleaning staff as well with no resolution from management. There are many other hotels in the area to choose from and I will do so next time. They also have no restaurant or... More

Friendly staff, very helpful and professional. Rooms are small but we expected so. Nice and clean. Daily leaning. The interior could do with a touch up but rooms have a nice personality to them. Great area close to Union Square.

My husband was there on business and all the hotels were sky high. The King George was at least reasonable (not cheap at about $300+ per night.) This hotel is a glorified hostel: small rooms, no air conditioning, and little service, though they do have a bar on premises. It was OK, but I needed assistance on two occasions, and... More

The staff at this hotel were among the most courteous I've encountered. No breakfast included in the rates, but this hotel is cheaper than others in the Union Square area. We paid $191/night for 3 people. The rooms are small but adequate. There is no AC. We asked for and got an oscillating floor fan which was all we needed... More
