The hotel is well located put since it's an older hotel be aware that the rooms are SMALL. Some of there rooms do not have air-conditioning. We were in SFO when there was a heat wave, our room on the 8th floor had no A/C although a ceiling fan. We tried to open a window but it was too loud... More

As long as you are prepared for cramped and noisy (if street-side), then the location is worth it all! Front desk is very helpful. They don't have their own parking, so it's up the street at Union Square which concerned us for overnight parking with a car full of stuff. But all was well.

We were made to feel very welcome here, & the reception staff were always happy to answer questions & help with ideas for spending the day. The rooms are clean, the breakfast sufficient each morning, and the location simply brilliant..... Thank you.

We booked this hotel last minute for a very affordable rate. It was in the center of the city and it was super easy to access anything we needed or wanted. The staff was super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We requested a late check out and the staff offered us an hour more than requested! The complimentary breakfast was simple... More

The hotel is in a really busy area which is handy for most areas. We had a family room, partially at the front of the building which wasn't very noisy given its location. It was clean and served our purpose with no frills. The breakfast was fine, cereal, toast or small muffins which tasted like madeleines. The English guy on... More

I have stayed at this hotel on two different occasions, in 2010 and 2014. I liked that the bed linen is all white and tasteful and everything is very clean -thats all you can ask for from a cheap hotel. I can turn a blind eye to the horrible colour scheme in the halls. I had a good experience on... More

This hotel was the first hotel we booked on our month long trip. This hotel has great location. There is 4 of us 2 rooms. Rooms look nothing like the photos. Husband and i had the heater on in our room for 2 of the 4 nights we were here. We had over 80 degree temps. Sister-in-law was so hot... More

I chose the Stratford because of the price and location. I will not return. The rooms are extremely small and dingy. The walls are thin and you can hear noise in the hallways and adjacent rooms. There is no parking. The only good part of the experience was the location. However, there are better hotels in the same price range... More

The good things of this hotel is the location, right to the center of union Square. The neighborhood is safe and not noisy(eg. Bar) at night. Just few walking, there is a safeway supermarket which sell to go food so it's quite convenient for a meal that doesn't need to go to the restaurant. Opposite the hotel has pizza place and... More

I'd rate a zero if possible. Cant expect much from a 2 star hotel although for $300 a night you would expect pillows that wernt rocks...a basin to wash your hands in the bathroom rather than the bedroom and maybe even a breakfast that wasnt so "3rd world rate." Finally we have the lift...for an 8 floor building it literally... More
