Spent two great days in San Francisco. The Hotel Stratford is in a great location close to Union Square and on the cable car route. Could not fault this hotel. The service was great, the room was clean and tidy (a bit on the small side), the bed was comfortable and the included breakfast was good. Even got a strong... More

I stayed here for a few days in early May. We chose this hotel based on it's location and we weren't disappointed. The buffet breakfast was a nice treat (cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, juice, tea & coffee) and the free wifi invaluable. Our room was facing the street and we did find it extremely noisy and hot, (thank goodness for... More

The rooms are small, but if you're not one to spend much time in your hotel then it's not a problem. The staff is kind, rooms are clean. Do not park at Union Square like they suggest; park at the garage on Stockton. Breakfast is coffee, muffins, fruit, cereal, juice, and toast. Perfect for me. The room has a private... More

I stayed here for four days in April, 2015. The location is great, right on the streetcar line leading down to Fisherman's wharf and walking distance to Chinatown. My room (two double beds) was immaculate with a large bathroom. The room became hot in the afternoon (no AC) due to an unexpected hot spell, but all you had to do... More

Room was a little small but was ideal for our 3 night stay in San Francisco. We had a comfy queen size bed as well as two double beds in the joining bedroom. There were 2 TV and plenty of space for everyone to relax and recharge. Breakfast was basic but adequate with a variety of choices each day. Hotel... More

If you're reading this review, you're not looking for a five star hotel, you're looking for a deal. This hotel is a deal, and I would stay here again. For the price, you get a hotel in the center of the city next to all the public transportation you could want. First, there are muni cable cars outside your window... More

Nice hotel in the heart of the city. Located on Powell St, on the Cable Car line, I enjoyed hearing the iconic ding ding of the cars as they went by. I left the window open til 11pm and there was quite a bit of activity on the street with the restaurants. (The hotel does not have AC , but... More

This hotel was great - you have a bed, a sink in the room (ok this was a bit odd at first but got used to it), a shower and toilet, a wardrobe, a TV and breakfast. What more could you need in a City like San Francisco? I went on my first holiday to America starting in San Fran... More

Whilst you cannot fault the location of this budget hotel, and whilst in a city like San Francisco you don't expect to spend lots of time in your room, it was disappointing to find quite how small the rooms were. So small, I could only get in to bed by squeezing down the side of the bed past the massive... More

Stayed for 3 nights as base camp for city exploring. Rooms are not overly spacious or luxurious, but all you need is there. Bed was comfortable, had a good and quiet sleep. The best feature of the hotel is the location: Union Square, cable car, Chinatown, Macy's; they're all within a stones' throw of the hotel. Breakfast is ok. Front... More
