"Petite" rooms are very small, but manageable. Room was cleaned daily, no complaints. Elevator is small but worked fine. Breakfast (included in price) was decent. Convenient location. Good value for the price.

Let's get it out of the way right now: this is not a luxury hotel. If you're looking for a luxe place, keep moving. That said, the Fitz has a very good rate for the solo traveler and it's a 2 minute walk to Union Square. The staff was great. I started out with a noisy ground level room and... More

It was an easy check-in. No hassle. My room is in the third floor. The room is quite small and I stayed with my spouse and two bags. Enough to place the bags. There is no clothes cabinet except that there is two hangers to hang the shirts. However, the room is comfy enough for four nights since most of... More

If you want to stay near Union Square/Nob Hill, and you can't afford the crazy SF prices, this hotel is a good choice. The rooms are tiny and the elevator is small and old, but if you only need a clean and safe place to sleep, I highly recommend this spot. Very easy walk to downtown SF, surrounded by awesome... Prices for accomodations in downtown San Francisco are usually on the high side. The price shown for this hotel is relatively in my budget (~$130). I saw previous reviews about the tiny rooms, but I was not too concerned as long as it is clean. At arrival, the staff was polite but did not show much hospitality. Even though it... More

Awful hotel - Firstly staff are dreadful. On check in guy never looked me in the eye and pointed at the price we had to pay. No help with luggage and just grunted when we asked a question. The other guy never even looked at us as we walked in and out. Clearly no CPD training plan here! Room was... More

This gem of a boutique Hotel is classed as Backpackers Accommodation and as such I would not have given it a 2nd look BUT because of travel mess-up this place was the only Hotel on short notice that could offer a room.Charming does not do it justice.Furnishing were tasteful, room airy and large and the full breakfast was all that. Staff... More

I've stayed here several times over the years when I couldn't find anything else within my price range. It has improved somewhat but it's basically an upscale hostel. Service is minimal at best; rooms can go either way--it just depends where you end up.

The room is small and the furniture gives you the feeling that you're entering a classic traditional room, which feels comfortable. The wifi is good and the breakfast is also good with lots of different options. The location is by far the great thing about this place, really close to Union Square. The price is also fair for the region.... More

We had a suite for my family of 4 plus my mother. It was a bear to find parking (used a garage 1 block down) no luggage cart, & a tiny 100 yr. old elevator that only holds 2 people. Needless to say it was a journey to get to our room! BUT, once we stepped into our suite, the... More
