We came to this hotel last week - mid August 2014 - via the Adelaide Hostel (and shame on them for not giving us any warning that we'd be transferred to this grot hole from what looked like a pleasant hostel that we actually booked). We were appointed room 101 on the ground floor. The room itself is an oddly... More

When we arrived at this hotel at 9.30pm it was devastating. We were put in room 101 which is a converted sitting room and awful. However the next morning we changed our minds when we were mobed to 202 which as a little better. The hotel is cheap for the location which is 6 mins walk from union square(the most... More

I booked a night at this hotel over a month in advance. Upon arrival, I was told that they had overbooked and I would not be given a hotel room. Not a single apology was issued. The desk manager told me I would have to stay next door at a different hotel. Fine. Unfortunately, my parking, which was discounted at... More

Dear Josh, we sincerely apologize you had such a bad experience at our hotel! We understand that coming to a new city and incurring in some inconveniences is not exactly the best experience for a traveler. However, I would like to take this chance to point out a couple of things that, if left unexplained, might mislead other travelers. We... More

Fitzgerald Hotel is a nice boutique hotel very close to Union Square. Even if the elevator is very small it's serviceable. Breakfast is simple but filling. The rooms are kept clean and neat by the housemaids. Staffs are friendly. Special mention to Maria who patiently answers our questions and attend to our needs during our stay there, and always ready... More

I've been here several times and I always enjoy my stay. The rooms are clean and honestly it's the best price I can find around (hostels private rooms seem to be more expensive than this place). I always look forward to Eric being behind the desk, he's a nice guy.

I stayed here for three nights in May 2014 with my girlfriend - we really liked the location (close to Union Square, Powell St., Great American Music Hall) however we weren't that enamoured with the room. I've no issues with a small hotel room, but the corner of our bed nearly touched the main door of the room when it... More

I travel a lot and prefer blowing my money away on good food rather than a really expensive hotel. The place is in a great location near Union Square at an affordable price. It's quiet at night if you get one of the inner rooms, and the walls are not thin as some of the trendier hotels can be. I... More

Great location, but old building with old furnishing (not complaining!). Great location at a cheap rate! Just a short walk to Union Square with several eateries around the hotel! Just don't walk to TENDERLOIN district (dangerous!)!

We booked this hotel through Adelaide hostel and requested the private room. When we arrived at the hostel they told us that the private rooms were located across the street. We were a bit weary, but when they escorted us up to our room we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a nice room that was quiet and comfortable. On... More

Great location and easy to get around. The staff were always accommodating and the rooms were always clean. People complain that the rooms are small but I found them ideal for a solo traveller or couple sticking to a tight budget. The facilities were fine and breakfast was more than enough (not sure why people are so annoyed by paper... More
