I spent five days at the Fitzgerald just before Thanksgiving. The hotel is in a great location, convenient to Union Square, Chinatown, Cable Cars, BART and the Financial District. This is a mid-range boutique hotel, quaint, beautiful breakfast room and lounge, well-maintained with a friendly atmosphere. I selected a petit double, which as its name suggests, is on the small... My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a week in October. The location suited us perfectly - right in the city centre and very convenient for all the shops, transport, main sights etc. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable, off the street. We really enjoyed the bar too - not... More

We stayed here for two nights in October and were happy with our stay. The place is quaint and located close to shopping, theatre and city life. We were in a room away from the street and slept well. the bar is not operated by the hotel owner, and opens irregularly. Bar is pricey. the hotel staff were friendly and... More

Excellent central location beside Union Square, but not much else to get excited about. The room was pretty basic. The hotel was a bit spartan and the breakfast as cheap as they could make it, well actually they didn't make it you just helped yourself out of packets of sliced bread and monster jam pots etc..

I stayed here for one night because my conference hotel wasn't available. it's fine if you're just looking for a quick place to sleep but nothing else. Broken window that I had to prop open with the clock. Light blulb out that I had to go to the front desk to get a new one. Phone didn't work. Towels that... More

we are just back from a great trip to SF and a wonderful stay at the Fitzgerald hotel. The staff were wonderful giving us tips on the best places to visit as our stay was so short. Thank you PJ and all the front desk staff. Very comfortable beds and the rooms were clean and fresh. The best budget hotel... More

Upon arrival the greeting was friendly but he pointed out the room was small and there were no others available, since it was only one night and we were flying out in the morning we thought we would risk it. The room was certainly petite as advertised but it was difficult for two people to share with luggage. The fan... More

I checked into this hotel on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I was too exhausted to complain about how hot it was in the room or about the small space so I removed the top comforter, because it was one of those old comforters that made you itch at first glance and because it didn't look like it had been washed... On arriving was greeted warmly. Then we had to encounter the elevator, which was as tiny as a mouse trap and just as lethal. The room was slightly bigger than the. elevator. The bed was as old as God, as the mattress groaned as we sat on it. We had to walk sideways to avoid each other in the "room"!! The... More

Recently did a 4 week trip around the west coast of the US. This unfortunately was the worst hotel we stayed in out the 8. We had a very long travel day with a 6 hour delay in our connecting flight so didn't arrive in San Francisco until 11pm. In the taxi on the way to the hotel we drove... More
