Really good location. Especially to Union Square. Room was great. Two doubles, bath. Shower was awesome. Old timey elevator but works fine. Easy check in and checkout. Walking distance from major tourist destinations, like Fairy Building, Union Square entertainment and shopping. No AC. But open windows feels fantastic. Just have some street noise. But hey, you're in downtown SF, it's... More

We booked the Fitzgerald for our stay in San Francisco on our road trip. Upon arrival they quickly checked us in and helped with parking. The staff was very friendly and consistently pointed us in the direction of great food and drinks. The room is small but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Plus the Fitzgerald was... This is a decent enough hotel with a good location. The price is low and this means that it is able to keep business despite very small rooms and some minor faults (such as a bad smell in the rooms and windows that do not work). The reception staff are friendly enough but don't go out of their way to... More

In the middle of July prices for rooms in SF are high. I get it. I was here to volunteer at a multi-day Breast Cancer walk, so didn't want to spend too much money. Booked through an on-line site. The location is OK, but just barely. Go the wrong way out the front door and in two blocks the neighborhood... More

I booked the Fitzgerald's petite room for a conference in San Francisco at the end of June. I found the building a room to be older, but mostly well cared for. The place felt clean to me. The room I stayed in was fine for what I needed, a place to stay, but would have been tight for two people.... More

Small, unpretentious and slightly eccentric. The first would describe the lobby area, room and most definitely the lift - one of those old steel gate affairs that are OK as long as you don't have any luggage. Unpretentious is a polite term. Slightly eccentric ? Well, I did like the room decorations - some kind of souvenir of Bermuda on... More

My wife was disrespected by the desk clerk beyond belief. She sat 3 hours waiting for the 3p check-in because "that's the policy, just like the sign says." When she asked why people walking of the street were given rooms the clerk clarified that she "purchased the cheapest room and if she were to go to a car dealer and... More

The man checking me in seemed like he would much rather be elsewhere. The lift is an old style where you open the door and then the gate. It was small but charming. I was on the 6th floor and took the stairs most every time since it seemed quicker. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable.... More

San Francisco always has me coming back for more, just looking for ways to get more bang for my buck. For a decent price, a filling breakfast and a clean room to feel secure in leaving my things for a day...this place offered it plus some. Its a small locally owned hotel that has bared witness to the growth SF... More

Very clean and small charming hotel. Great location. Lovely breakfast. Helpful staff. Just the perfect hotel for the price if you would like to go sightseeing around sanfrancisco and retire by the night. Not a huge property. On a lively street with many dinner options around yet not too noisy. We got a room with the street view so did... More
