The hotel itself is located in a nice area - nob hill. but it's inconvenient as there aren't many restaurants located within walking distance, and it's just an overall snooty place. typically i don't mind the snootiness as long as the rooms are clean and quiet. however, after arriving late at night from a long flight, the snootiness of the... My stay at the Stanford Court was Superb! The rooms although a "little dated", are very clean and quiet! The history of the Hotel lends itself to a lot of its charm. The staff is very attentive, courteous, and professional...they even mailed the two in room postcards for me complimentary!

We shortlisted the hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. We were looking for an accommodation for one night and hence the focus was on a convenient location which would be accessible to most points of interest in the city. As we drove into the porch of the hotel, we knew we had made a good choice. The staff was extremely... More

I have stayed at this property before and made a plan to return based on previous good experiences, which have now been sullied & will result in me taking my business elsewhere in future. I needed to redirect a parcel that was delivered to Stanford Court, given a change travel plans. I phoned in the early hours to cancel my... More

Spent 3 nts and loved it (not the hills). It's a 10 min walk downhill to Union Square, where there is shopping and dining. Had a queen room on the 6th fl. Room was clean and comfortable. Maid service was unobtrusive and efficient. Had appetizers in the lounge and food was tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and stay... More

Grand exterior with tacky interior. Feels like they are trying to 'Funk-it-up' eg. graffiti skateboards on walls, LCD's everywhere. Doesn't really go with the apricot / beige / feminine interior. Service is good. Rooms are big. Planning of lobby / valet area is confusing: no flow. Walking distance to crummy 'downtown SF'.

I did an intensive research before I booked this hotel. Location seems to be great ( in the middle of everything- you can get to any of the major places within 15-20 mins by walking) and it was on sale, so why not? It has more of a boutique hotel feel, rooms were not too big, but we didn't plan... More

This hotel is a great value for what you get and such little downfalls. The rooms were clean, we were given an upgrade upon arrival, friendly staff and city charm (you can hear the cable cars for the room.) The only dings I could give them is the lack of room service and our valet parking wasn't the greatest experience... More

I'm really happy with 98% of my stay at the Stanford Court hotel. Nice location just up the hill from Market and the heart of SF. Check-in was easy and nice staff. The rooms were new, large, and nicely done. The only drawback is the hotel isn't necessary 'full service' - for example there's no room service, and food in... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
