You could very easily walk right by this place and not know if was there - the mechanic's on the corner is a great landmark and they pointed this out in the directions they sent to me. We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very comfortable and the shared bathrooms were spotless - I never had to wait... More

A very affordable option for a stay in the Mission District if you are prepared for the simple accommodations. Rooms are very small and do not include private toilet, bath, or even a lavatory. Each floor has two shower rooms and two small WCs. Guests are responsible enough to keep the facilities clean during the day. Located on the second... More

Spent a few nights here and the staff was very welcoming and great with recommendations of places to eat, within different budgets. Wes's recs were spot on and were our favorite restaurants/food trucks we hit up while in the city. (Also recommended Balmy Murals, which I explored and found to be very cool. You can stroll down there and pick... More

We spent four nights here from Saturday until Wednesday in a double deluxe room costing over $1,000 for two of us. The mission district of the city is an edgy part, central enough to easily explore everything you'd want to see and only one block walk from the BART station which makes it super easy to get to and from... I am visiting friends in San Francisco and found this hotel on line. Never having been to San Francisco I wanted somewhere central but not in the city. Well what a find! The thing I love about this hotel is the staff. They are kind and helpful and every day they spend hours telling all the guests how to get... More

We spent a week here and were really pleased with the hostel: although shared, toilets and bathrooms were spotless, well lit and with modern fittings. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Michael. The breakfast (included) was very nice (help yourself to a choice of bagels, scones, muffins, cereals and fresh fruit salad, tea/coffee/juice) and they offer tea/coffee in... More

With the high Hotel rates in SF, hostels are the way to go and as far as hostels go, Nineteen 06 Mission is great. My biggest issue with hostels in general is the shared ablutions. Not so much the "sharing" bit, but more on the hygiene side. So for the mere fact that the ablutions were always kept clean, I... More

Our stay at 1906 Mission was super and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to stay in a really vibrant and interesting part of the city. The staff are helpful and pleasant, and the rooms clean and fresh. The location was great for us, as the area was a great mix of bars / cafes/ shops and... More

The place is clean, cute and affordable for San Francisco. I think it is still a little bit on the expensive side considering you don't get a bathroom on your room (but then again, San Francisco). The location is good but not excellent. The good part: lots of reasonably priced restaurants, one block from the BART! The bad thing: this... More

The staff was very very friendly! Amazing cooperation. Really sweet. The property is well located. Some homeless people in the area but no one bothers you. The rooms are big enough and the beds are comfortable. Very enjoyable stay. Bathrooms are always clean and the utilities are top notch. I could go on and on!

Staying in Mission District

Neighborhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.
