We went to San Francisco recently for a 3 day weekend. We purchased two nights at Park Central Hotel in San Francisco through Groupon. The hotel is beautiful and I believe , recently renovated. The clerk put us on the18th floor of the hotel so we had a great view of the city. The hotel is just down from Market... More

My wife and I stayed at the Park Central (recently rebranded Westin) in late February. I am a native San Franciscan and always enjoy going back for a visit. I remember when this hotel was built in the 80's and opened as a Meridian. First off, the location for downtown is solid. Close to the Convention Center, and an easy... More

The location is great but that is the end of anything good about this hotel - No matter how many times they change the name of the hotel the service remains awful. I was supposed to go out recently for work and was staying there because of a conference at the hotel and caught the flu - and even Delta... More

This is the third time we have stayed at the Park Central Hotel, formerly known as the Weston on Market. Once again we were not disappointed. The hotel staff are always kind & cheerful, willing to assist in anyway possible. We upgraded our room upon arrival. What a view from the 32nd floor. The corner room was fantastic. Although, the... Nice review Kevin D! We can't go wrong with catering to our guests like you and we thank you for being a repeat customer. The views from our premier corner rooms on the upper levels are quite the spectacle. We are glad you agree! When in San Francisco: Be Central, Park Central! More

We stayed for 3 nights over President's Day weekend. Location was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. The only thing lacking was customer service and concierge. Service was just OK. Concierge answered questions but did just that. Didn't have a lot to offer. When checking in room was not ready. We asked about an upgrade to a higher floor and... More

Hello there momof3sonsnj, Firstly, I would like to say thanks for being a bi-coastal Park Central guest and hope you had a great President's Day weekend in San Francisco. Though you've rated our location and rooms highly, you indicate the service experience you encountered was just 'OK.' I would like to apologize for the inconsistencies you experienced with the staff.... More

Overall this hotel checks all the boxes. Locations, service, convenience. As a traveller warning, the hotel could use a refresh, very 90s feel. The rooms are a normal size but the size of the bathroom is probably smaller than what you had in your first college studio. My bathroom was about 3.5ft wide just enough room for a small but... Howdy Bo C! I'm happy to here you rated our service 5-stars. Thanks you for sharing your incites with other travelers. I couldn't agree more about the Yerba Buena Gardens view on the lower floors facing southwest - very beautiful. I have advised our housekeeping management team of the ice bucket cleanliness; rest assured, this will be addressed. Some of... More

Great location, close to Market St and all the SF shops. Room was above average but all the usual Starwood group amenities which is nice (including the heavenly bed). Bathroom could do with a bit of an upgrade though.

Looks deceive when you first check in. Starwood have spent 0.5mm flashing up the check in experience. Modern and fresh, you think... Ok... This is a decent hotel. Once you have your room key, if you have a hot tub, it's time to then jump in. You are about to enter the long cherished, but best left far behind, world... More

Hi David, Thank you for your feedback. I must agree that upon entry to our lobby, the open design concept deems itself to be quite modern. We definitely pride ourselves on our check-in experience as well. I have noted your restaurant and guestroom experience and will forward it to our management team. We are now an independent, yet Starwood-Affiliated hotel... More

First off, great location. But when we walked in, so, so lobby. We stayed in a double queen room over the last weekend. Comfortable bed, clean room and nice faucets in the bathroom. However, the check in process is disappointing. The gentleman who checked us in handed back my credit card in one hand, while still looking down at his... More

This is one of my favorite hotels in SF. I have always had great service here and great room. The staff are solid, consistent, and dependable. For some time, the hotel was out of reach on our work travel planner due to cost, but so glad that it still shows up. I'm excited to learn about the new name and... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
