We chose this place last minute after Frontier cancelled our flight. We saw that it had 3 stars so I was expecting average quality. It was 1 star quality. The rooms were not all numbered so we had to guess which was ours. All of our bed linens had stains. My bed sheet smelled like mildew. My friends had random... More

This would have to be the worst Hotel as they call themselves but this is a HOSTEL shared bathrooms and dirty facilities. In the worst dangerous neighbourhood in San fran , you are taking a big risk staying here. We stayed because I saw this on hostels own web site and also on another booking site and reviews were a... I'm a minimalist kind of guy so the fact that this place made my skin crawl is not to be taken lightly. When we arrived we were given a room with two single beds with no pillows or blankets. Tiny tiny room. No tv, more like a walk in closet. We asked for a double bed and got one. So... More

Beware of this place. don't go near it! getting to it you need to pass by drug addicts and dunks. The sheets were dirty and had hairs on them, and the bathrooms were dirty. The receptionist was nice enough to tell us it would be ok if we leave after the first night, however they decided to double charge us... More

As per other reviews, this is a Hostel, not a Hotel. The location is good in terms of centrality, but I would advise against venturing outside too much after dark - if you do, go via 7th rather than 6th. Our room was OK - seemed clean enough, but it wasn't what was advertised - we were given two single... More

I don't mind sharing bathrooms-they're reasonably clean-but I refuse to share bed sheets! Urine, hair and crumbs greeted me upon pulling back the duvet. The carpet hasn't seen a vacuum in a very long time never mind a steam cleaner! I have learned my lesson for cheap stays in San Fran. Avoid like the plague, unless you don't mind getting... More

I just booked this hotel from France on internet. I must admit that i did it quickly. This was for a convention and, at least on the map, hotel was perfectly located at walking distance to the Moscone and Union square. Price was 347$ per night (including tax) For that price you stay in an unsafe area in a small... More

You can hardly call this a hotel. The neighbourhood is dirty! A lot of homeless people on the streets who make a lot of noise during the night! The rooms are very small, there was no service at all. The showers an dtoilet on the floor, so in the morning you have to wait a while to refresh. During my... More

I was so scared.. I decided to stay at a different hotel! The reviews where not so bad but, when I got there I was so scared. There where men urinating on the sidewalk (2). And there was a woman who was staring people who passed by her down. It was the scariest place I've beem to and I'm from... More

This is maybe not the best hotel in San Francisco but for the price it's quite good, the staff is nice and friendly, the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable and the wi-fi works really good. Indeed, there's no toilets or shower in your room but the common bathrooms/toilets are clean and it doesn't bothered us. The breakfast was... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
