If you are looking for a cheap and good place to stay park hotel is great. Good front desk staff. Good for your money. Can be loudy with alley so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Overall safe

* Hotel's location is good - that's the only thing positive thing to talk about. * Room was in floor 2 - nothing is refurbished, am pretty sure nor retrofitted with any sort of earthquake protection system. * The owners clearly don't care about "user experience", "comfort" or "service". Those words must be foreign to them. * The room is... More

The Park could use some upgrading, as others have noted, but overall it's well located, cheap by SF standards, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed there for one night in late august and was upgraded at no charge to a room with a private bath.

Pros: cheap, close to Union Square, friendly staff, free internet to use near the reception. Cons: small rooms, small beds, no air con :-( This is a very basic hotel so don't expect any luxuries. We struggled without the air con, the window was facing other peoples rooms so we had to close the curtains for a little privacy...

I think your opinion of the Park Hotel will depend on your expectations. If you're looking for a fancy lobby and complete in-room amenities, you will be very disappointed. If you're looking for a comfortable and inexpensive landing place in San Francisco with a bit of a lodging adventure, then the Park may be your place. We definitely enjoyed our... More

Rooms a bit 'smaller than the average American hotels. Proximity to major attractions. Low price compared to the average of San Francisco. Right hotel for a city break for a young couple with no pretensions.

I stayed at the Park Hotel for twelve days and nights. I was completely satisfied. One of the best features is the friendly and always helpful staff. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, the people who manage the hotel were truly and immediately responsive. As a traveler, I find this more important than glitzy promotional materials and/or monogrammed... More

Decent price for the city, good location, friendly staff, and relatively clean. We had a private bathroom which was clean but we were only given one bar of soap and two bath towels. Obviously this is adequate but an extra hand towel and bar of soap would be nice! Also, our towels were clean but stored on top of the... More

Staff helped to sort out my problems with a tourbus I had planned. Very BIG thanks!! Location is on safe street on downtown and not very far from BART station. Cleanliness and towels/lines could be better, but that is what you get in this price range. Hostel type of "value for money hotel", not luxus.
