Thank you for a delightful stay. The hotel staff is exceptional in every way. They are gracious & knowledgeable. The maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel is exceptional. Of course, the location is the best in the city. You are to be commended on the success of making your guests feel welcome, safe, and eager to return to SF. Keep... more

I can't think of a single thing I would change about Hotel Vitale. The staff is courteous and professional, the rooms are comfortable with so many nice amenities (the shower alone makes it worth it!) and it could not be in a better location. It's close to everything but it also feels quiet and remote when you need to get... more

I have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Vitale, and loved it. What I expected was a boutique upscale Hotel, and I got that and more. I payed for a queen bed internal view room, but signed up to the Hotels loyalty programme beforehand. The rates were great. I was pleasantly surprised to have a bay view... more

I can whole-heartedly give a rating of "excellent" for each of the catergories listed. We arrived at the hotel and were immediately made to feel welcome. The staff was efficient, professional and friendly. The door staff, bell staff, front desk, concierge and housekeeping staff greeted us like returning friends during our entire stay. I was impressed that the staff was... more

I wish I could keep this hotel a secret! I had lived in San Francisco 30 years & went back for a visit. In the past I've enjoyed this boutique chain Joie de Vivre, before, but this was a new one on their list. The area is perfect, near public transportation, great restaurants, right across from all the colorful activities... more

After a long and fairly harrowing flight from Melbourne, Australia and being stranded in LAX for eight hours, just making it to any hotel would have been good enough for us. We just wanted to put our heads down and get on with our holiday. I wouldn't have thought it possible that after what we suffered we would actually be... more

I've stayed at Vitale 3 times. The usual decline in service and experience after the first year post-opening is happening here too. The aromatheraphy bath products that made the shower seem so luxurious in days gone by are no longer from Fresh Corp....they're now generic flavorless gels from some innofensive and unknown maker...clearly cutting costs. The port cochere where you... more

We were originally booked in a room with one bed. I called their reservations department and explained I was travelling with 4 year old twins. The agent owned the situation and immediately upgraded me to a suite with curtains to seperate the sleeping areas. This is a semi-typical boutique, city, hip hotel. Not the place you would expect the staff... more

Good location near the Ferry Port building and 5 minutes walk from one of the main tram lines. It's a comfortable and stylish hotel with generally very friendly staff. The room was spacious and comfortable and we had a great view of the Bay Bridge (although if you get a view you also get quite a lot of noise drifting... more
