Stayed there for 1 night. Rooms are very small. In winter it was rather cold in the room, however they brought the heater that was noisy, but became warmer. The art is amazing, but the rooms and the bathrooms are much to be desired. Looks more like a hostel for adults :) overpriced.

The hotel is located very close to Union's Square, Chinatown and a lot of public transport stops. However, that's where the good stuff ceases. Des Arts itself is tiny! I've actually been to hostels larger than this hotel. Before we booked it, we had read reviews saying that the rooms were small but we did not expect them to be... More

A small, older hotel. The rooms are a bit musty, the elevator is claustrophobic, and the views aren't anything special (I looked into an alley on one side and across into another room's window from the other). But the location is excellent, and the prices are reasonable - if you book ahead, the suites with your own bathroom are excellent... More

A great low budget hotel with a perfect location in San Francisco. The rooms are nice and tidy with colorful paintings on the walls, and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is very simple though, and you have to bring it to your room because there isn't enough space to sit in the room where it is served.

We stayed one week in a Queen Suite for four people. The sofa bed for two was really disappointing. It was so tiny. The rooms had two tv's, a fridge. There was a sink in the bedroom. The bathroom had a bathtub with shower head, a sink and toilet. The rooms were pretty clean. It is cleaned daily, give credit... More

The room was very small. Homeless people were in the backyard I could hear their loud voices the whole time. The room was uncomfortable and loud. The staff were unfreindly and rude. I don't recoomend this to anyone.

I was on a family vacation and we all loved so much the location, the excellent friendly and attentive staff (who went above and beyond to be helpful and informative) and, the cleanliness of the rooms was spotless! Loved how they respected the original architecture although hallway floors could use some restoration.

I stayed as a business traveller and was attracted by the relatively cheap rates and central location. As some other reviewers have commented this is a fairly basic hotel and I was fully prepared for this. The hotel, its staff and facilities I found to be quite acceptable. However, the level of noise in the hotel between approx. 06:00 and... More

I have stayed here at least a half a dozen times. It is my go to place (along with Union Square Hotel). First of all, comfortable beds are very important to my husband... And this hotel has his all-time-favorite beds. The location is great for access to the convension center, and has many great restaurants near by (walk down hill... More

We chose this hotel for its location and price. The room was very small, but clean. We had a problem with the toilet, we were offered another room for the night, but it was too close to another leaking toilet (very noisy). The assistant on duty told us we were being difficult... afterwords, we were asked not to flush toilet... More
