I stayed in this hotel for six nights. It is conveniently located very close to Union Square, the main shopping district and opposite to the main entrance of China town. The reception staff were extremely rude and obnoxious and very hostile. The house keeping staff were nice and friendly. I was on the fifth floor and the elevator was broken,... More

The location of Hotel Des Arts is exactly where I need to be for shopping and business: central, close to Union Square and Chinatown. Restaurants and stores are nearby. It serves a good continental breakfast and the rooms are amusingly decorated with the work of local painters and sculptors. Some are a bit scary, so request a room without displays... More

We stayed here 4 nights. The hotel is very well situated and is good value for money. The room and the bathroom were a bit small, but the paintings and decorations are beautiful. The only negative thing I have to say is that the breakfast is very light.

Close to Market Street, Union Square, Chinatown, Financial district and public transport. Free continental breakfast provided, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and clean, with nice linen and the fluffiest towels I have ever used. Free wifi.

The room was great for what we were looking for. Small but had the necessities. There is no air conditioning and we had an alley view which allowed no air flow so the room was a bit stuffy during the day. Slept great at night though. The water pressure on the shower wasn't great and the breakfast was only juice,... More

This was definitely not exactly a pleasant stay. We got in quite late and we're pretty tired. The elevator was broken and we were up quite a few floors to haul out luggage. Luckily we had a little help, but, Parking was a few blocks away and not convenient. It would have been cheaper to pay for our own parking... More

The revolting manager of this hotel refused to let my wife and I check in at 11:30pm on our wedding night. Wife in wedding dress and all. We turned up to the hotel with our bridesmaids and groomsmen who were helping us with our things. The manager was instantly rude and accused us of trying to sneak our bridesmaids and... More

bad experience staying at this hotel. I was quoted a wrong price and when I arrived at the hotel at 1am I was charged 1. 5 times and the staff was rude. The place is noisy and was awake sever times at night due to rooms not having any sound buffering! Poor rating!

Hotel itself is charming but the back looks onto an alley with dumpsters from neighboring restuarants. Given a room overlooking the alley and couldn't sleep the first night because of the dumpster divers having a party and then the trucks coming to pick the garbage up. Fortunately we were able to change our room for the rest of the stay.... More

I was taking a week long class in SF and chose this hotel for location and value. I was able to get a weekly rate and a return customer discount, and found I was paying less than fellow students who were in a nearby hostel. I was able to get a small refrigerator on request, which let me add some... More
