I stayed here for five nights during the week of the 4th of July. The place was built in the 30's, and the owners have done a pretty good job of keeping ahead of the natural break-down of an 80 year old building. The rooms are fairly small, but it's a motel, not a condo. The two bedroom unit (at... More

We arrived to have the gorgeous Vicky spend about half an hour with us discussing the places we could visit and the best restuarants in the area. The trains and buses were so handy only metres away which made everything so convenient. We worked out the system available in no time at all and we had San Fransicso at our... More

On my "bucket list"for 10 years and I made it! The 30's ambience, comfy beds, beach locale, nearby Java joints for breakfast (only if you didn't want to use the fully stocked kitchen) and welcoming hosts JUST GREAT!!! Free Parking! The Outlander restaurant outstanding! The Duffets provide a warm welcome and answer any questions; also, an excellent neighborhood map where... More

We were a little leary about booking a hotel sight unseen. However, all that changed when we checked in. This place was great, had the best night's sleep. Other reviews complained of the noise, that wasn't an issue as we had earplugs on our nightstand! The owner went out of her way to make sure we got to see Alcatraz.... More

My 6 year old wanted a trip to the beach with her cousins for her birthday. With 4 kids under 9 we planned a shoestring trip to fill her wishes. Normally I look for reasons NOT to book the budget places until I find one that fits the budget and gets a few good reviews. The Ocean Park jumped out... More

I really wanted to like this place., it's so cute. Build next to a streetcar line, 2 blks from the beach. This motel is like the one in that 'Lucy' episode where the train comes by every half hour with a loud roar shaking the place to pieces. Here it's a streetcar that starts at 6am and stops at midnight.... More

Despite your one star rating, I had to smile — and I’m an owner! Maybe it's because I'm such a "Lucy" fan. The image of roaring streetcars and shaking buildings, as well as slamming doors and your startled, barking standard poodles, brings to mind Lucy’s Long-Long Trailer catastrophe where her rocks hidden inside the trailer almost pulled them over the... Redundancy be damned, I'll add my positive review to the previous postings. The location is perfect - in a quiet neighborhood with nice restaurants and coffee shops. A short Muni ride from across the street to downtown, the Mission or Castro. The beach a block away. On the Great Highway and access to Hwy. 1 and Santa Cruz and Monterrey.... More

Having lived in the Richmond District in SF for 9 years, I like to stay in the Richmond/Sunset area when I visit so I can easily access all my favorite haunts. Easy parking, a kitchen, and good public transit are also things I look for in a hotel. And on my most recent trip, I had my dog, so a... More

We spent a night at the Ocean Park Motel. It is the only place we stay. The rooms are clean and neat.. The hidden hot tub is a great place to unwind after seeing San Francisco. The rooms have TV's with DVD players. A good thing if you have kids. The owners are wonderful. They are knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The... More
