San Francisco's oldest motel (by their claim) kept or reasonably modern. We booked it for two nights based on the reviews of others here. We'd go back without hesitation. If you're looking for a ($300 plus) hotel, this isn't it. If you want ocean, a little distance from the central city, very pleasant proprietors, clean rooms, WiFi, and a great... More

This is my second visit to the Ocean Park Motel and once again they have outdone themselves. We had a party of 7 and took up the upstairs two rooms on the north end. We had our own entrance, a kitchen, two lovely bathrooms and 4 beds which worked out wonderfully. It's a short walk to the gorgeous beach, very... More

If you love art deco, the era when the San Francisco Bridge opened and would like to visit that time with one foot in the present and one in the 1930`'s-1940's, then you'll enjoy the time machine that is Ocean Park Motel. This is not the Westin or Hilton. It is a darling motel from a time when families motored... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Park. Yes the rooms are small but we did not come to San Fran to stay in a hotel room. The beach, zoo, and Harding Park are all within walking distance. The L streetcar is right in front and takes you downtown in 25 minutes. Don't miss the Java Beach cafe a block... More

We had a large room with two queen beds and a full kitchen. Furniture and appliances were all clean and in good condition. The beds are a bit dated. We quite enjoyed the room, staff did a really good job with housekeeping and the front desk people were nice and helpful. The hot tub was pretty nice though it needs... More

We booked this as part of a 3 week tour of Canada and USA and during our trip had a real mixed bag of accommodation so this place really intrigued us, rather than staying in a chain hotel. We booked the room directly with the owners and explained we wanted a quieter room (as aware of trains from reviews) due... More

This is my kind of place. I stayed in a two-room suite with a kitchen and found it clean, neat and comfortable. It reminded me of a cute old studio apartment. I took a run on the beach, and in the evening, I soaked in the hot tub. It was a great stay. If you prefer modern hotels with uniform,... More

Basically the perfect fit for a family on a budget that also wants comfort. The owner has a packet of recommendations and he goes to great lengths to be helpful. There are two bedrooms, three beds, a TV, a fridge, bathroom, and more. The location is by the beach, Golden Gate Park, and Java Beach Cafe. If you want to... More

My husband and I discovered the Ocean Park Motel through Trip Advisor and decided to stay based on its positive reviews and proximity to the ocean. Chester and Marc were each very friendly and helpful while we made reservations and during our late afternoon check-in. Guests are provided with a handout containing suggestions on things to do and see as... More

From start to finish this was a great experience. From the first phone call I felt I was talking to a friend that was there to help me. The motel is adorable with a fascinating history. You can't beat the location, with the ocean just a minute away! A family owned business where we were treated like family. On the... More
