My wife and I stayed here for New Year's, and it was a very good choice. We really like the location (we could hear the ocean), although it may require a car to reach the most touristic part of the city. The rooms are clean, albeit a little small, and their configuration as small apartments is great for family travel.... More

We visit our daughter and her family frequently, and since they live in the Sunset Neighborhood on the western part of the city, this location is perfect for us. But it's not just the location. As our reviewers have indicated, this is a gem not to be skipped. Clean but small rooms, friendly management and staff, and you can't beat... More

This property is really a slice of old San Francisco. Being so close to the beach is a real bonus and the wonderful vintage atmosphere is so much fun. We found it easy to get to downtown and to our appointments in The Haight and the staff were super. A great find if you are touring the area.

I actually looked up Trip Advisor before we went on this trip. There were so many accolades for this hotel and I can say that they are honestly true! When we got there the staff gave us all the information on where to go, eat, explore and have just a great time. The room we got was the room with... More

Six years ago I wrote a glowing Tripadvisor review of this place. (October 18th, 2008) A month ago I was back in San Francisco. And, once again, the Ocean Park worked its magic on me. For sure, this deco gem isn't for everybody. The Ocean Park was built in 1937 and has small rooms compared with newer hotels. Our bathroom... More

My wife, son and I made the Ocean Park Motel our hub, and for us, everything about the place was ideal. I'll start with the people at the front desk. They conversed with us about their personal recommendations for dining and activities, and even provided a printed sheet with detailed descriptions and locations. The architecture of the Motel is beautiful,... More

I was skeptical when a relative suggested we stay at the city's oldest motel but Ocean Park has been lovingly maintained through the decades and its deco style was enjoyable. I was traveling with a teen (of course) and we found this location at the end of the L train and across from the SF zoo to be perfect in... More

San Francisco's oldest motel (by their claim) kept or reasonably modern. We booked it for two nights based on the reviews of others here. We'd go back without hesitation. If you're looking for a ($300 plus) hotel, this isn't it. If you want ocean, a little distance from the central city, very pleasant proprietors, clean rooms, WiFi, and a great... More

This is my second visit to the Ocean Park Motel and once again they have outdone themselves. We had a party of 7 and took up the upstairs two rooms on the north end. We had our own entrance, a kitchen, two lovely bathrooms and 4 beds which worked out wonderfully. It's a short walk to the gorgeous beach, very... More

If you love art deco, the era when the San Francisco Bridge opened and would like to visit that time with one foot in the present and one in the 1930`'s-1940's, then you'll enjoy the time machine that is Ocean Park Motel. This is not the Westin or Hilton. It is a darling motel from a time when families motored... More
