We stayed here for a week as a family with 2 smallish kids in a private room in July. The location is fabulous with no passing traffic it is so quiet and peaceful at night. Occasional loudness but nothing we couldn't sleep through. Private room was great (bunk beds) so we had a base to sleep in. Location was fabulous.... more

The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, accommodations were cosy, and common areas were very pleasant. Especially nice was Cafe Franco, with reasonably priced, excellent quality food and a beautiful view! The location was extremely walkable to Fisherman's Wharf/ Ghirardelli square and Pier 39; Cable cars (there's a wait) to Union Square, Chinatown. We felt very safe and our cars... more

We had a group of 15-16 year olds and chaperones, and chose this hostel for our lodging. Knowing the cost of hotels in this area, this Hostel is a gem for groups, solos or even families on a budget. It's nothing fancy, but for the price and location you cannot beat the San Francisco Hostel at the Wharf. The rooms... more

We stay here as a group for our service trip and love the location. Being next to a huge park and within walking distance of Fisherman's wharf makes it worth it. The bathrooms are pretty clean and so are the rooms. Can get loud with groups of kids but they are patient and helpful. Internet access is nice. Wish you... more

From our initial questions & registration, then accomodating our group's needs, the hostel staff were excellent and friendly. Fort Mason is in an awesome location - can walk almost everywhere - and has beautiful views and history. Basic breakfast is enough & the hot showers felt great after a day of sight-seeing. We enjoyed reading the staff's recommendations on the... more

Our Junior GS troop bridged to Cadettes and stayed at the Fisherman's Wharf Hostel. It was a great experience. We were warmly greeted and were given exclusive use rooms. The kitchen and large refrigerators were very helpful for us to keep costs down. Breakfast was a little light, so we added our own protein. On the whole, we would recommend... more

We recently stayed at this hostel as part of a Girl Scout trip to San Francisco. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel is located in a beautiful setting that's hard to beat. Also, the prepared meals were perfect for our troop! more

I bring a large group of students every year for the cherry blossom festival in Japan town. You can't beat the location or the price. We were right on the water's edge withith walking distance of pier 39. The staff is extremely helpful and if you forget to bring anything...they probably will have it at the front desk. There is... more

This hostel is great, the standard with YHAs is always good but this was exceptional. Very close to Fishermans Wharf and was a tram ride in to the city centre. rooms were excellent as was the cozy, log fire communal rooms. This hostel has an attached cafe which serves FREE brekkie and very cheap but good meals. Only bad thing-bathrooms... more
