I'm pretty easy going when it comes to hotel rooms, and have no problem with "basic" but this hotel redefines the definition. I stayed here for 4 days and didn't want to pay the $200+ a night that the rest of the hotels in the area were charging. The price was by far the cheapest of any hotel in this... More

Be prepared to get depressed by the colour of the walls in the room. They are the worst kind of yellow you can get in a badly lit room. The only thing that works in favour of this place is its location- I do not think that the low price works in its favour at all. The rooms are not... More

Do not expect luxury such as bedside lamp, hair dryer or maid service every day (but every second day). The room has ghastly yellow coloured walls, a noisy ceiling fan and absolutely no charm. It seems clean enough though. We were upgraded from "basic" to "standard" I do not know the difference, but maybe the basic one does not have... More

During Bay to Breakers weekend it is virtually impossible to get a hotel room (with private bath) in this part of SF for less than $200/night. This hotel came in well under that price point. Parking is available in a few areas within a block of the hotel, and very pricey but not a surprise for SF. Although the building... More

Sheets and pillow cases were filthy and stained. And when asked to change them, the staff asked extra money for room service. There is no free breakfast as mentioned on TripAdvisor. The rooms and the entire building has a super funky smell. The staff was okay. They werent friendly but they werent rude either. The rooms are in terrible condition... More

I just stayed at the hotel again - the 4th time in 10 years. I considered booking another hotel , but the cost of the Taylor is so competitive it seemed like a waste of money, given that I was only gong to sleep there! To me, the hotel has many advantages - apart from the price. Number one -... More

I booked this hotel knowing it would be basic but just needing a cheap place to sleep in an expensive city. For around $70 per night this was very well located and acceptable for an old building. It was awkward having to be buzzed in each time but good for security. There is a very strong Indian cooking smell in... More

I stayed there a couple of nights in september and while the place was noting much to look at, it was ok if you just wanted a place to sleep. However if the free wifi connection is important to you, you should consider looking elsewhere. At best it was very very slow and in the morning and evening at the... More

Well I'm not sure where to start. We had a long drive before arriving in San Fran and I was very dubious regarding the accommodation once we we're let into the lobby area. Like other reviews have mentioned you do have to press a door bell, then you are buzzed in, at 1st I thought it was a bit of... More

I stayed at this hotel last July for 3 days. The hotel is run by a family from India. The price for a room in July was $ 110 a night but still was not worth it. The hotel ( I would not even call this a hotel) was old, dirty and had a stink of rotten food or God knows... More
