My business colleagues and I landed rooms at the Club Quarters, not realizing that it is a membership hotel; i.e. companies with a commitment of 200 or more stays per month. Evidently they do make exceptions in non-peak periods. The experience was markedly different from a "normal" hotel - snacks (nuts, banana chips, M&Ms), hot (coffee, cappuccino) and cold (sodas)... Our first time in San Francisco so we where unsure were to stay. We were very happy with our choice at the Club Quarters, great location, close to shops, transport, and activities. The rooms were clean and had plenty of room for 2 adults and 1 child. Would recommend this hotel.

My office is in Embarcadero Center. Other hotels in the area are much more expensive than CQ and I find it perfectly acceptable for a business trip. The rooms are small, but efficiently organized. I often say it's a bit like a cruise ship room, taking advantage of the space they have. Plenty of desk space, and free wi-fi. This... More

Very nice, modern hotel. Friendly staff, parking is $35 at enclosed parking garage right around the corner within 1/2 a block. Room are fairly small, but big enough to enjoy and are modern looking and clean. Free Wifi, no iron in the room, but available. Free water bottle station at the end of hallway. My only complaint is the elevators... More

We choose this hotel for its location: near where we needed to go and also close to shopping and transit. We walked to the Ferry Building for breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty safe to walk around at night. Our room was clean and modern. We had a suite with a mini-kitchen - small cooktop, refrigerator and microwave. We... More

We arrived early, and were happily checked into a room....the wrong room. We walked into an underwhelming room that smelled of smoke, with a window that opened up to a view of a white cement wall. Also, the TV was in an entirely non-functional place on the wall ensuring a neck-ache no matter which side of the room you sat... More

Very nice property, rooms are very small but clean. Very modern. Bottled water machine on every floor. Nice touch. Nice decor. Bed was showing a bit of wear. Sagging in the middle. Not very comfortable. Hotel is a good location downtown. Chinatown is a few blocks away as is the bay. Staff is friendly. There willing to help with attractions... More

Have stayed here twice, Jon greated us both times at the from deak. Super welcoming and accommodating. Courtney is also auper great and friendly. Rooms are well spaced and clean. The free water bottles and guest service closet is great and makes you feel at home. This is my go to hotel when I come to visit the city.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
