I could detail about comfort, cleanliness, décor yada yada yada, but what really makes this place great is the incredible people who work there. Seriously, look no further if you're looking to have a great time with people who want nothing more than to provide an authentic SF experience. Just book now. You'll find nowhere better. Be spontaneous. Life is... More

Not sure what I should write. This Hostel is by far the BEST ! The staff is beyond reproach. Albert , Ashley, Ari, Courtney, etc. Truly the BEST !! The first question they ask when you check in is " would you like some water ". Wow ! After a day of travel that is certainly what we need. Anyway...Extremely... More

My time at this hostel was great. I stayed five nights and had a great time every night. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They often went out with the people staying at the hostel and the intimate community space really helped develop relationships.

Had a great time here and met some interesting people. Lots of 'hacker' types and travellers with interesting stories. The management (Courtney et. al.) really goes the extra mile to make your stay an enjoyable one with activities, amenities and general good advice for your stay. Definitely recommend.

I had the best time in pacific tradewinds True there's no doors on the dorms and it's a tight squeeze but as someone travelling alone it was a great way to meet people. The common area is small but again, you can't help but talk to people. The staff were great and couldn't help enough. I extended my stay numerous... More

I still vividly remember staying here as it coincided with my 24th Birthday. The staff we're amazing friendly, relaxed, and treated you like family rather than customers. I had my birthday while at the hostel and one of the staff took us out around the town and rallied the others to celebrate with me! Along with that it was clean,... More

I stayed and work at the PTW for a month and half last year. I keep so many good memories of my trip in SF and many of them were in the tiny blue lobby of this wonderful hostel. The hostel might be small but that's one of the greatest straight of it because it allows you to connect with... More

Friendly people, very clean hostel, organized, very well located, great management! This group of friends will try to make you feel at home. Courtney is the best!, it is a shame i could not spend more time there.

The location of the Hostel is great. The first question I was asked when I rang the doorbell was if I needed help with my luggage, and, later wanted a glass of water - how nice and welcoming is that? Not only in the first day, but all of the 10 days I stayed there the staff was great. The... More

I had expected my first experience of travelling solo to be a largely, well, solo one. Thanks to Courtney and all the staff at Pacific Tradewinds I barely had a moment alone and it was the best experience of my life. Every day in San Fran was spent exploring the fantastic city with other travellers because that's just the atmosphere... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
