Arrived very tired and just wanted to check in ... Discard luggage and lie down ... But couldn't... Check in was the most tedious process I've ever been involved in, mini questionnaire was really intrusive and didn't make any sense!! For example one of the questions is How did you travel to San Fran?? Who the hell cares?? Just show... More

Stayed here for 5 nights in January, am glad that I made the right choice. Room is spacious, beds are comfortable, locker underneath your bed, big enough to put your backpack in. The whole place is really clean. Location Is good, not too far from everything. During the morning, they share the staircase with the chinese restaurant downstairs as they... More

I've stayed for nine days during January and I've been to many hostels in many cities during the past few years, but this was the best one by far. Great accommodations, great location (near every public transportation and just a few blocks from chinatown and little Italy) and the best staff. I'm recommending it to all my friends for sure!... I was traveling alone and was on a budget, and this hostel was exactly what I was looking for, cheap but not "sleazy". Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms, beds and restrooms were clean. There's a fully equipped kitchen available until midnight. Only downsides were that there is only one toilet per floor, and many residents. Though most of... More

Good Location and feels safe to stay there. They have lockers which are huge to put your suitcase in (bring a lock) or you can buy one for $5. Free WIFI! which is fast :) Nice people staying there too, the traffic is a little bit noisy at night but what else can you expect right in the city. Would... More

This hostel has friendly staff and a great location in Financial District. However, I didn't get any sleep. There is a poor ambiance (smells from restaurants downstairs, poor and very old decor) and my bed was right next to street noise (with no sound proofing) and floor-to-ceiling windows with no blinds. If you do stay here, be very specific about... More

Although I would rate this as a good value for those in SF with a car, you have to add $27 or more for overnight parking. Not for people with disabilities or knee/hip problems registration is on the 4th floor and rooms on the 3rd or 4th. Also if you have a top bunk, because the walls do not go... More

Awesome place to stay if you are in san francisco and want to meet people. Staff is very nice and helpful. Very clean place to stay, not far from bart station, can take the bus everywhere. Check out broadway st for bars and good food nearby

I stayed a week in early November. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. It is up a few flights of stairs, but they'll offer to help you with your bags. Check-in/-out takes two minutes. They take a twenty dollar key deposit, refunded on check-out. Wi-fi is fast and reliable. There is a locker under your bed with ample room... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
