the private room that we got placed in stunk so much that we had to go and buy our own air freshener. it smelt like a toilet but we didnt even have our own bathroom. the hotel was very noisy, there was constantly kids running around, we could hear every footstep of everyone walking up and down the stairs. our... We found the hostel very welcoming and all was really very fine. Staff members were nice and helpful as well. I would truly recommend the hostel to stay in. I regret only one thing - that we do not have more time to spent in San Francisco in the hostel. At the same time it has a great location. Pueri... More

Came here after two weeks of hiking and the place exceeded all my expectations. The staff was sharp and knew the area very well, the location was good, and the facilities fine. Breakfast is bagels with PB and J and oatmeal.

Located in Downtown SF, this Hostel is ideally situated. If, like us, you are giving back your car after a road trip, Hertz, Avis and a few other car renting companies are just next across the road. Less than 5 minutes walk to Powell Station, from where you can easily reach the rest of the city by Metro, BART, Cable... More

First time staying in a hostel for 5 nights and I was really impressed! Noise outside was understandable considering it's in the city centre but the beds were comfy, the under bed storage is great for a suitcase and more room for extras, breakfast is basic enough and it has a mix of young, old and even children. Staff at... More

We stayed in a 4-beds private room. The toilet and shower were separated from the sink which is great for 4 girls getting prepared at the same time. The room was clean but with a little bit of humidy. Very noisy by night when the homeless people take down the streets. Breakfast was just fine.

We stayed in a double room that had a third bed just in case. The room had a sink to use. The toilet and shower were separated from each other, so there was no line to use them. The toilet is eco friendly by filling the tank with the water of the sink. Breakfast was delicious. There is a variety... More

Typical of the HI hostels, this one was in a big old building. The rooms are small (we have a private one at the moment), but the place is clean and jolly and in an area easy to walk anywhere to/from.

Stayed 3 nights in June 2015 in a 3-bed private room. Hostel staff were nice and welcoming. Room was clean but there was a smell - had to open the window to ventilate the room. Lockers are provided but only big enough to fit a small bag or essential items - bring your own padlock No issues with noise, although... More

I stayed in a room that was facing the main street. It was a good sized 4 person room with two locker cages below the bottom bunk one for each bed. On the headboard of each bunk was a light and two usb charger ports also a small shelf. there was also a sink and mirror in the room. The... More
