This is an one star hotel, very small room, not very clean in general as everything in it is just old, need serious update. I am not sure why these guys advertise for free breakfast, you may get rotten fruits if you are lucky.

I have been staying at the Country Hearth Inn in San Francisco on a regular basis for the past few years in order to be closer to my office in San Francisco's Presidio District. Commuting from my home in Sonoma County had become challenging during a very busy time in my business. I highly recommend this charming motel to anybody!... More

This is not a review of our stay because we didn't stay. The TA reviews were fairly good, so we decided to book. Tripadvisor showed the prices, but it changed from morning to night, so I called to book and confirm pricing. When I asked if the three nights we needed were available and the price, I was told 'Whatever... More

Clean, nice front desk, great maid service. Great location. The only bad part is that there is no soundproofing. Woke up at 7am to a guy talking on phone about 25 ft outside our window-for what seemed like forever! I'd stay here again, though. Price is too great not to, in such an expensive city.

We stayed here this past weekend the room was very small but clean. We had no problems walking in this location it was safe to walk day or at night. The parking at the Country inn and suites is free but limited it is only 8 spaces you can park on the street for free during certain times asked the... More

This hotel is excellently situated. The bus stop is just a few steps from the hotel, and in a city like San Francisco with an excellent transit system of efficient and extensive connectivity, this is a big plus. The Lombard Gate of the Presidio is also just a few yards away. The free Presidio bus routes give access to the... More

We asked the Manager of the Country Hearth a lot of questions about getting around San Francisco and his help and knowledge was invaluable. We were very grateful for his directions ( a lot better than our GPS) which helped us find our way around and then out of town. Thanks again. Also might add the bed was really comfortable... More

Just got back from a vacation in San Francisco, we chose this hotel frankly for the price, and the location, saw some good reviews so we took a chance. Our room was bottom floor, which was nice at first, after so many hours on planes didn't feel like carrying bags so many stairs, didn't see an elevator, though it might... More

This small Inn is very well located and super convenient if you have a car because you can park it for free. Everything is very clean, the heating system works well and the price is great for San Francisco hotel and inn prices. Things to improve: - Decoration - Breakfast Pros: - Very clean - Good service - Free Wifi... More

I consider myself a reasonable traveler when it comes to value for money with regards to hotels. I agree with other reviews that the location is great and on a small, quiet portion of Lombard St. Having said that, here is my "beef" with hotels like this: with just a bit more attention to details the room could truly be... Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
