Excellent place to stay on the outskirts of the city. Away from the seedy areas. Close to good hikes around Presidio Park and the Palace of Art. A few blocks walk to Chestnut St where you'll find dozens of great places to eat. Walgreens 2 blocks away. Uber around because it's too hard to find parking in the city. Uber... More

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights - very nice hotel family run and couldn't do enough for you. The family will always help out giving advise of where to go. Maids cleaned everyday to high standard, free wifi in rooms which was fast. I would definitely recommend it to people clean, free parking and not expensive meaning you can... More

Rooms are dated but comfortable. Cute funky furniture. Beds were comfy except for the pillows which were pretty stiff. Location was excellent, just off the busy strip so quiet location, close to Chestnut with all the awesome restaurants, a great pizza place a few doors down and a neighbourhood pub on the corner. Close enough to walk to the marina... More

Everything went well. The owner let us put our bags in the lobby while we went on a tour of Sanoma Valley drinking wine. It's close to the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts Theater if you don't mind walking a little bit. There are a few decent bars for the young people nearby. We took a... More

For this trip, i gave importance to free parking and free wifi. Glad to see that the room was nice and clean. It was not so new but it did not have any old smell. Even more glad to see they have free pastries, fruits and coffe/tea for breakfast. It was only available up to a certain time and good... More

This is one of the most reasonably priced and nicest accommodations in the San Francisco Marina. Though it is on Lombard Street, it is off the main road near the Presidio so it is much quieter than most. The people there are wonderful and the motel is clean> Just had new furniture delivered. Love the place and always feel welcome... More

Pros: good location, spacious clean room, quiet, free parking (very limited space), free wifi Cons: very basic breakfast with no seating area. No real complaint but nothing impressive either. No surprise for this price.

Stayed at the Country Hearth Inn for a few nights; was looking for a place that is close to attractions and wouldn't blow a hole in my budget - Country Hearth fit the bill; located on Lombard street, it is close to public transportation, within walking distance from the Palace of Fine Arts and the Marina, IHOP is a couple... We came to town for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and wanted to find a place to stay that was safe and not too spendy and had free parking. This hotel was the answer! The staff was so friendly and were helping people park in free spots on the street when the seven free hotel spots were full (we got the last... More

The rooms are a little small, the place is old, but it is in a good location. The staff let us check in early since we didn't rent a car and had no place to store luggage. Only real complaint that I have is that the water controls on the shower didn't work well and the water could only be... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
