It wasn't bad, but it wasn't cheap. At almost $200 we got a cramped room without a lock on the door, shoved into a corner with little to no sunlight. The outside was dirty and unkempt, the elevator was extremely outdated (permit expired in 2005), and it was completely open to the street. With no lock, I was worried. The... More

I don't want to try and damage anybody's business but this motel is awful. I would expect this standard if I was paying $60 a night but at there prices I can't do anything but criticise the place. The beds are big and comfy and the area is safe but I can't think of a single plus point other than... More

I stopped by during the week to check out a room and was a bit nervous that the room they showed me was heavily perfumed. But when I checked in they gave me a room on the top floor (no one on my ceiling!). The room was fine, clean, no problems. I was in the corner and the room was... More

This motel was the worst motel on my trip to California. This place should have been closed down. Dirty room. The beds were terrible, I could feel every spring and hardly no sleep. Much noise from the streets. It was very expensive. The Next day I moved to Kensington hotel for the same price. The breakfast, if you call a... More

Finding value in San Francisco is challenging. This hotel is on Lombard St. You can easily walk to the Marina area or Pacific Hts. Presidio, or other good neighborhoods. Decent restaurants and happy hours are in walking distance. The rooms are spartan, basic. Don't know if a quiet room exists here due to road noise from Lombard Stree.

Having read reviews on TripAdvisor, I was very worried about bed bugs. I searched the bedding and mattress carefully and found nothing that moved. The cover on the boxspring had some stains but the mattress cover and sheets were fine. The pillows were poor but we brought our own. There is no hairdryer and our coffee maker didn't work. The... We stayed with my wife at this hotel in May 2014. It was the only one available near the places we wanted to visit in the City. The hotel is very well located, and we could go by walk to Ghirardelli, Fisherman's wharf, the cable car terminal, etc. But the hotel was horrible, the rooms poorly cleaned, it smelled bad,... More

This booking was made for us by someone else, when you book this through Booking.com the picture they paint is that this is a fairly good stay, when you read the reviews on Trip Advisor this place is the worst there is. BAD TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS ARE RIGHT. The Indian guy on reception was not that pleasant at first, but... More

The only positive thing about this experience was I was able to check in early, the lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. This' trip was unfortunately a week stay. Our $82 a night king size non smoking room was on the second floor. It included a smoke filled room, moldy refrigerator, drunk, screaming neighbors, free parking... More

This motel was conveniently located. I wouldn't say that it's right in Fishermans wharf, probably a 10minute walk away but close enough. I think if the management put a little bit more work into the building itself it would be more appealing... But the place is cheap to stay in so you can't expect too much. My room itself was... Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
