I stayed at the Mithila on a business trip to San Francisco in January 2015, a week when a major conference had all the well-known, over-priced hotels anywhere near Union Square booked solid and even more over-priced (by two to three times what they are actually worth). I discovered the Mithila by expanding my search a few blocks (it's about... More

We, a family of two adults and two children, stayed at Mithila Hotel in December 2014 - January 2015. The best things that we liked about it are its good location (10 minute walk to Union Square) and relatively cheap price (four family members shared a double bed and two bunker beds for US$ 132 per night, including taxes). The... More

Mithila is truly your home away from home- if you usually reside in a crack den! San Francisco was our last stop having travelled to four other cities around the US and staying in four well priced but lovely hotels we thought would give somewhere on the "cheaper" side a go (cheaper being nearly $700 for four nights)- what a... We booked this hotel mainly for the price and the location, and for those two things, having stayed in this neighborhood before, this place cannot be beat!!!! Without any doubt the hospitality is likely better than I have experienced in any other hotel that I have stayed at. All of the staff was very accommodating and especially the person we... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. No, it's not the ritz, but for a great price for San Francisco I was happy that it was clean and that we got our own bathroom. It's near bus and the old trolley stops, but will take you about 30 mins to get to the piers. If your destination is at union... More

We booked here due to cost and only being in town for one evening. It's a little more basic than I was expecting. The carpet in halls and on stairs badly needs replacing. I will say I was a bit scared after booking and reading some of the reviews, but our room/bedding/bathroom/towels were clean. Yes, there were holes in a... More

Me and my partner were travelling from San Francisco to Las Vegas. This hotel was the first of the trip and for what we paid it was good enough. No luxury but for a basic room in a good location it is very good. There is no bed and breakfast though as it says on the booking , they only... More

Don't do it. Run for your life! Filthy, dried blood on the nightstand, mold in the bathroom. Springs popping up out of the mattress. I couldn't bring myself to stay there on my two night visit to San Francisco and they kept one whole nights rate for a cancellation fee after I told them I was canceling. I should have... More

Hi , I had spent a couple of days here at mithila, SFO , 2weeks ahead. I agree with the other reviews here , which doesn't seem really appealing. But the best thing about this place is the location. It's situated right at sutter street, which is extremely close to union square and China town and other attractions. And if... More

Hotel Mithila is a rundown and dirty building, with a bad smell and feels extremely unsafe. The customer service is appalling. We prepaid 4 nights through a travel agent, and on arrival there was "no record" of our payment, despite showing them the booking receipt and we were told we needed to pay again. The receptionist and manager were extremely... More
