This hotel gets an average rating because it is an older building with small rooms and it isn't luxury. However, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, walking distance to cable car on Hyde or Powell, the BART, several restaurants and on bus routes to Union Square or other landmarks. If you want luxury, don't book... It is in an awesome location and the staff is very helpful. Check-in/out process is easy and the rooms are clean... but tiny and fairly simple. Which is what you should expect unless you wanna pay double the price.

If you don't have high expectations, this place is fine, been in a super expensive city as San Francisco, finding this hotel saved my life. It is true that it's an old building, with an elevator that reminds me an old horror movie, but to be honest, I enjoyed it every time. The location couldn't be better, there is a... More

Terribly dirty and dark room (bathroom was a lot cleaner). Stains on the bedsheets, filthy windows, horrible old smell, untuned tv. Thankfully we had our sleeping bags from a camping trip and ended up sleeping in those on top of all the bed linen...no way we were getting under those covers! Staff were also unhelpful and frankly, a bit weird.... More

Dated decor and small rooms but great value and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful with great local knowledge. Five blocks from Union square and on major bus route. Safe area. Rooms have wifi, microwave and fridge lording board and iron. Ensuite with bath and hairdryer. We have booked to go back again in a week when we return to... More

Staff was great. Rooms size was ok for 1 person. Baths had been updated. Stains on shower and window curtains. My friend reacted as soon as she entered the building and said it was due to mold. 4-5 stairs to get hotel. That was tough for dragging suitcases. I would not stay here again

Booked in a hurry without studying reviews. Thick layers of dust, cobwebs, dirty paint. Never again. Funky dirty smell. OK, the bathroom is pretty clean, but the fan sounds like a jet airplane taking off and if you want the light on you get the fan.

Absolutely disgusting. You get what you pay for but don´t use this hotel in San Francisco. This place needs a good clean and updates. Tolet seat in the bathroom was absolutely disgusting and needs replacement.

Even though the hotel is a bit dated, its location, price, and good service make our stay a good overall experience. Keep in mind that we only returned to the hotel to sleep. The rooms have a mini fridge and a microwave. There is a little super market right next to it if you want to save a little on... More

This place needs a good clean and update. Yes it's cheap, I found the location to be good. Close to buses and the cable cars etc. Breakfast is more of a snack. Small muffins and other things, gone very quickly. The rooms are an ok size, but the walls are thin as we heard the people in the next room.... More
