This hotel is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and transport. Room was a reasonable size and beds comfortable. Staff do their job but not over enthusiastic. Breakfast included but pastries and coffee. My one beef is that until you go down to breakfast you are not informed that even though the machine is there you have topay a dollar for... More

The Grant hotel was a pleasant and well maintained. It was better than expected given how hard it is to find accomodation in San francisco. Great location close to the cable car stop and union square is 3 blocks away a reasonable walk. However be warned it's an uphill climb from the BART station on Powell street. The rooms are well... Dated hotel, no frills, no ac in rooms apparently, breakfast was very plain and basic, decor was ancient, etc. I know you get for what you pay for... But considering what I paid. I wasn't happy. Needs better and more attentive staff, a complete remodel, etc. Location is OK, but better options are available

A super friendly receptionist welcomed us and we got the room early. The location of this hotel is very good and you can reach most sites by foot or by using the nearby busses or even better the cable cars. Two things to be aware of: the maids of the hotel use a strong perfume to "cover up" any unpleasant... More

We booked this hotel primarily because it was cheap and seemed to be quite central. We didn't really have high expectations but we found the hotel to be of a very good standard, especially for the price. It was clean and you felt secure with helpful staff. The location is excellent. The hotel provided breakfast but this was very basic... More

This hotel is all about its central location, one block from Powell and Union square! It is rated two star and is very British in style with carpet on the floors! The fittings need an upgrade but on the whole it is not bad. I found it quite pricey for being a two star hotel but no wonder considering the... More

The room was dirty when we moved in and inspite of the several attempts, remained that way for the duration of our 5 day stay. The "Green Initiative" means no maid service. After two days we asked for our room to be cleaned and they agreed. Unfortunately, they did a very poor job. We asked to be taken off the... More

Whilst the location of the Grant Hotel, central San Francisco and general cleanliness of the hotel are OK, the customer service during our stay was terrible ! We stayed for 4 nights and every time we passed through reception (multiple times a day) whichever receptionist was in attendance never raised their head from their computer/tablet/phone to acknowledge us, despite us... We had no idea how to get to our hotel but we knew coming off the plane, to take the BART to Powell Station. We did that and the walking directions said walk five or 6 blocks to Bush Street so we decided to walk. OMG! Never again will I think 6 blocks is easy in Frisco. I had my... More

It's all about location, very well located in the heart of San Francisco, few steps from Union Square which made it super convenient. But i didn't like the room at all ancient room without any kind of view and and parts of the hotel were smelly! poor breakfast, which is all about a coffe, piece of cake and and an... More
