This is a good hotel, close to Union Square and less than 100M from cable car route. Hotel is old but well looked after, our room was at back away from street so very quiet, but the view was of other buildings about 100M away on next street. I suspect lots of rooms have a view of a building 1M... More

The average room is very old. This hotel is clean and serves its purpose for tourists. You will encounter a variety of people staying here in terms of race. The housekeeping that I encountered did not speak english but that wasnt an issue as I did not have any problems with them. Wifi in this hotel is very poor. It... More

Stayed for four nights... when we got there we asked if we could have twin beds. The staff were more than happy to give us a quiet room at the back of the hotel with twin queen beds. It did cost us an extra $20 per night, but as the hotel is reasonably inexpensive, it was worth it. It is... More

I would never recommend this place to anyone. We arrived after a long flight and was not even spoken to at checkout just grunted at. Totally ignored my booking paperwork that I had taken with me. The place had a room opposite us with a Sanitation sticker sealing the room god only knows why. This place is overpriced for what... More

The price for this hotel was the reason for booking as it is considerably cheaper than others in the same great location. We weren't sure what to expect because of some reviews we read but were satisfied with our stay. The bed was comfy, staff were helpful, and discounted parking is right across the road ($26 for 24hrs) which is... More

Hotel is in a fantastic location, Cable Car line is seconds away on Powell Street, the Main Shopping area is a short walk DOWN the hill, worth remembering you have to walk back UP with your bags! (Or get the Cable Car) A few things on the Hotel: The Breakfast Pastries and Fruit are served in the main Lobby with... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location was great and the room was clean but the bed definitely needs a new mattress. The hotel has a central location and great price. We would have paid a little more for a better mattress.

very very convenient location, near to the intersection of two tram routes. Roomy rooms, large lift, moderately efficient service, overall "value for Money" accommodation. I wud recommend to take weekly valid tram tkts and fully exploit the beautiful central location of this hotel. It is within walking distance of the Union Square, but no hustle-bustle !

The location of this hotel is excellent; just a 5 minute walk from Union Square, bus/cable car access, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is good value for money so is suitable for those on a budget and for those who aren't too fussed about having a luxurious stay. However, upon arrival there were two... More

Location fantastic for, union square, china town , cable car, fishermans wharf 35-40 mins walk through china town and street lined with restaurant and bars. Extensive choice of local bars, restaurants all more reasonable than fishermans wharf. Yes does have musty smell on day one, but 2 hours window open it was gone. Bed was not comfortable though. Cleanliness was... More
