Pros: -Pretty good location. Right next to the beach and 10 minute walk from golden gate park. Not very close to the busier areas of the city but if you have a car it's about a 15 minute drive or there's a muni train stop literally on the doorstep of the motel, the ride into the city takes about 30-40... This is a great place to stay in a picturesque neighborhood of San Francisco. The vast Pacific Ocean with huge waves is right next door. The ride by the MUNI tram to downtown takes about 50 minutes. There are two great breakfast cafes right next to the motel: Beachside cafe and Java Beach. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.... More

I stayed here for a few nights. I ended up moving rooms. The rooms were not the cleanest .. mold on the ceiling and even some in the shower. It is an older hotel, old furnishings. Inconvenient outlets, etc. However, if this were in a third world country, it would be a 5 star hotel. There are 2 great coffee... More

This nice motel is not in the city center of San Francisco but even better...at the beachfront. It's really easy and cheap to take public transport to the center. And in stead you can enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the beach of San Francisco. The owners of the motel are really friendly and helpfull. You can ask them everything... More

I have family that live in the Sunset District, so the location of this motel is perfect. Ocean Beach is literally right across from the property, the Golden Gate Park is less than a 10-minute walk away, and the MUNI N Line, whose stop is seconds outside your doorstep, begins/ends here. There is also a great, albeit narrow and crowded,... More

Like an aging actor, these older urban "motels" get the job done...but only in the most basic sense. There's nothing elegant or even campy about them. Sad and tired. I would not bring "someone special" to the Oceanview. It was okay as I needed only a place to crash before continuing my trek northward after meeting friends in SF for... More

Didn't feel like it was the safest neighborhood. Got the room for a fair price on priceline but its not close to anything significant. Stayed here one night, seemed like there were many backpackers/party people here which made the place noisy. Fulfilled the purpose for an overnight stay during our roadtrip. Didn't feel very clean, it wasn't the greatest greeting... More

Unfortunately the negatives about Oceanview Motel are all within the control of the employees. Doors and woodwork are dirty and the reception ares, complete with thick glass and a bank kind of sliding drawer, all set the stage for a seedy Motel. The ice machine looks positively disgusting. The bathroom was clean and so were the sheets. The beds were... More

Price was decent (for SF), there was parking (first come, first serve), the linens were clean, great location. There was street noise from the Muni, it is not a 4 star hotel and could use some upgrades/replacements. Not a warm, fuzzy greeting or feel to the place, but frankly, I'm only at a hotel to sleep and it worked just... More

On the plus, location, location, location. On the beach, at the end of the N line. Great access to everything we needed. On the minus, security and up keep. Hollow core wood doors I would only use for a closet, with broken security bolts, are the only thing between you and the world. The bathroom has quite a bit of... More
