I stayed here for 3 nights with my family. The staff were lovely but that was about it. The room was very dark and dingy, the view was like looking into a trash can or something. The location is fairly good but it does feel dangerous walking about around there. I would say that 1 in 10 people outside the... More

Rude staff. But more issue with smell. Carpet is damp in many areas, the halls are flooded with pot dope smoke. The business centre has one PC only, that will not accept usb. Tv pre digital Era, so not everything fits on screen. Counter staff refuse to take acknowledge written complaint. Check for yourself if your game.

The hotel it self is nice and looks great but the location is very close to a bud street I was scard to go there and I used the other exit. It's very close to a main road so if you are not use to the noise it's not easy to sleep. On one of my night there the police... More

The hotel is well located to the centre of San Francisco but too close to the outskirts of the seedy area. We were scared to venture out at night as there are a lot of homeless and young men lurking around. The hotel was clean but there is no refrigerator or safe in the rooms. Bathroom was large but the... More

Dear Anna, Thank you for writing a review, I am happy to hear the hotel was in good location to your needs, yes we are very central and right at the corner of the Tenderloin area where unfortunately a large of homeless people hang out. You are correct, our rooms do not have refrigerators but we do have safes in... More

Our stay was great. They seemed to be strict about the amount of people that can stay in one room. They charge "extra" more than two guests per room. Room was small but thats how most hotels are in SF. Wifi worked well and was free. Location. Yes it is in tenderloin but on the very edge. Walk north one... More

Quirky hotel in the centre of city near several bars & restaurants. Rooms small & oddly decorated. Old meets new. Clearly updated some features, but could do with going back to basics & starting afresh. Staff & residents alike seem to have no consideration for those sleeping. Very noisy. Wouldn't stay again.

Stayed here in October 2015, we expected to be in a slightly rough area from reading reviews etc. so didnt have the highest of hopes. Was more than happy with this Hotel and the Staff were very helpful. The Rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was great as it was a minute walk from the BART station and a... More

We were booked into this hotel by our TA for an emergency flight home from San Francisco the next day. When we drove up to the hotel I didn't want to get out of the car. The area is sketchy, to say the least. The lobby looks better but the rooms are small, have no air conditioning and need updating.... More

Dear Goneagain401, The hotel Metropolis is located in the border of the tenderloin area, but please take into consideration that there are larger branded 5 star hotels close to our hotel just as well in the same area. You will encounter homeless people all over San Francisco. In regards to no a/c at the hotel we have very little need,... More

Stated Elegance, was Nothing like it, Such a Disapointment , No Air Conditioning, lucky for us we could open the windows and the nights weren't hot. Bathroom extremely Small. Could Barely move in there. Only Good thing about it was the Farmers Market below, and it was close to Cable cars, shops etc. Definitely Not Worth the Money!

The hotel was basic, no air conditioning, no hot water in the shower and our room on the second floor was extremely noisy due to music from the restaurant/bar. The area surrounding the hotel was filled with homeless people and we felt unsafe whenever we ventured out of the hotel. Sorry but could not recommend this hotel to anyone!
