We flew into SF to start a long road trip along the California coast as a reward to our daughter for finishing her GCSE's. We stayed for five nights in order to get over the jet lag and do justice to the wonderful city. We had a suite of three rooms in total, two bedrooms and a living room in... More

This hotel is really top notch. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, everything was sparkling clean. Room service was quick, the front desk was friendly and went out of their way to make our experience here enjoyable. It was probably the most quiet hotel room we have ever stayed in. Definitely five stars.

We mostly stay in Four Seasons hotels, this is probably the 4th Four Seasons in the last 6 months or so but sadly, this doesn't live up to Four Seasons expectations. I had read other reviews about this hotel not being quite Four Seasons standard but I thought it would still be within the ballpark of a 5 -star category.... More

I found the rooms to be very well maintained, quiet and perfect for business travel. I don't care for the location and wish it could trade places with the Fairmont. However, I'll stay at this Four Seasons over that creepy, worn-down Fairmont on top of the hill any day. I don't care how good their views are.

Thank you for letting us know that you found our guest rooms to be perfect for business travel. I'm sorry to hear that the location didn't work for you. While we can't change where we are, I'd love to hear more. Perhaps we can better explain how to get from one part of the city to another? I can be... More

Now I'm not saying that this was a bad experience..and I'm scoring this as 'Average' and feel it was more than that but not as high as 'Very Good'. To be honest it just wasn't Four Seasons and I hope I wasn't rude, and I certainly didn't mean to be, when I asked the Maitre d' at the rather blandly... More

There are reasons to stay at Four Seasons, not the least of which is the convenient location. Having said this, it is quite amazing how, given the allure of San Francisco, there are so few hotels to choose from in the Union Square area -- and for this reason the Four Seasons is the top choice. The hotel, however, desperately... More

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for your kind words about our staff and service. We are fortunate to be in an ideal downtown location, close to Union Square, as you mentioned. We made some recent additions to our lobby and we are looking at various ways to update different areas of the hotel. I hope to... More

We recently stayed at the Four Seasons San Francisco. The hotel is magnificent! From the moment you enter the hotel you are greeted by doormen who have a big smile on their face and open the door for you. Thanks Joe for your big welcome to us! Beautiful hotel, accommodating staff. It was a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were beautiful and extremely well maintained. The concierge was able to pull off dinner reservations that we thought were impossible to get. Everyone and everything were above and beyond.

Great hotel, staff, and service. A five star hotel next to an open sewer. It is shameful the way the city of San Francisco has allowed the homeless to take over Market Street. The streets, sidewalks, and subway system were filthy and reeked of urine. In over a week of walking in the city, did not see one police officer... More

My second stay at a Four Seasons. The hotel was immaculate. Room was very comfortable. Great shower but felt a bit guilty using so much water in the middle of drought I made it shorter than I would have normally. The only negative are the many people living on the street just outside the front door most under the influence.... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
