I was arriving the hotel by car. The police had cordoned off Third Street in anticipation of a protest scheduled for later that day. Third Street is the only access to the hotel by car. I told the police I was checking in but was denied access. About two blocks away, I called the front desk asking for guidance. In... More

I appreciate you letting us know. Sometimes it can get tricky with street closures downtown, so I'm glad you were able to arrive safely and that we were able to help you! Regards, Christian Klaus Hotel Manager More

I like the back entrance, you can get out of the fast lane right away here. The gym is fantastic with sauna and steam room. The restaurant and bar were fantastic. The staff were accommodating, took care of the electric car needs. We will hopefully stay here every year we return to the Bay Area.

Had yet another great stay, its especially important for in and out trips to have quiet, well located hotels and this does not fail. Rooms are great, excellent space and light (great in winter) staff are courteous and professional. Perfect location if you are looking to walk and explore the city, its not a cheap hotel by any means but... More

Service was superior as it always is at a Four Seasons property. Attentive and personalized from the moment you arrive - and consistently great with all interactions. Common areas particularly the lounge and lobby were pristine, sleek and comfortable. The guestroom was a disappointment and was the factor that drove down the overall rating. Dated decor - yellow paint on... More

We stay at this chain a fair bit and they recognized this, upgrading us to the next room category. Truthfully I think the upgrade is the same room, just higher floor. Nevertheless, higher floor is brighter and better views. Room was clean and comfortable. I had some items delivered to the hotel prior to arrival and shortly after check-in my... More

Everyone on the Four Seasons team is absolutely committed to the highest level of client service...they are thoughtful, courteous, helpful and make every interaction with anyone on staff an absolute pleasure. My experience has been, consistently, that The Four Seasons even has Ritz Carlton beat in client service.

Discrete but bang central in San Francisco - very high end - nice rooms but not excessive - the MKT restaurant is excellent and service as you might expect it outstanding, even down the pot of coffee I ordered to my room each morning - excellent coffee served with a smile (and served quickly).

It's long been my argument that truly great cities tend to rest on the laurels of their environment and the hotels become less a destination in themselves. Which is sad. A beautiful place like San Francisco deserves a truly great hotel. The Four Seasons is clearly the best but falls short of ever being thought of as a truly special... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
