We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Omni. It was wonderful in every way. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, a "big" birthday, and our daughter's graduation from law school. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful suite and immediately after checking we were presented with a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and roses! The... More

Our flight was canceled and we couldn't get out until a day later, and the Omni was very nice about canceling the missed night without a fuss; we did have to shell out $50 for valet parking each night, which is a bit excessive, and our room, while large and comfortable, had a close-up view of the windows of the... We stayed at the Omni in July this year. It was our first trip to San Francisco, so we weren't sure of which area to stay in, but the Omni turned out to be perfectly located for us. It's in the Financial District, so it's quiet at night, but we felt perfectly safe walking there after dark. It's also on... More

This is the second time I have stayed at the Omni, both on business. The Omni is a nice 4 star hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are of average size, but quite adequate. The furnishings are in good condition except for the carpet which is very tired and in need of replacing. The worn state of the carpet really detracts... More

I just returned from a wonderful 4 day in San Francisco, and 3 nights at the Omni Hotel San Francisco was a treat. I aways stay there now, and the accommodations, amenities, and staff are the best of any hotel I know. it is well-located and to me it is paradise away from home in America's favorite city. Martin I.... More

Giving this hotel 5 stars is easy with the type of service they deliver! I am a believer! I pulled up after a night at the newly finished J.W. Marriott hotel in Union Square, bad planning on my part. I was denied late check out and feeling a little green; I thought I would take my chances on an early... More

The Omni hotel is nice enough, and tries to offer decent service. But the rooms are definitely hit or miss and it is quite random whether you will get a nice accommodation. On the plus side, the hotel is conveniently located downtown in the financial district. A bit far from the convention center or tourist destinations but great if you... More

We had the pleasure of 3 nights at The Omni with our family of 4 including 2 teenage girls one of whom uses a wheelchair. The staff at the Omni could not have been more helpful and friendly and although there were not many families that we could see staying I highly recommend this place to families looking for an... My family of six recently spent two wonderful nights at the Omni San Francisco. The Omni was our last stop on a two week long family vacation. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We loved the location as well as the terrific service we received at the Omni. At first I regretted my decision not to stay in the Fishermen's Wharf... More

All of the prior reviews are true - the Omni is excellent. It may have been the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in - definitely in the top two. We stayed for two nights at the end of July. We had a 15th floor room with a partial view of the city. The rate we paid included valet parking... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
