Clean, comfortable and the staff are some of the most helpful we've ever encountered. Centrally located with easy BART connection from the airport to the Montgomery station. No breakfast in the hotel, but great spots nearby. Huge fitness center. Walking distance to China Town, Market Street, Union Square, etc

We had a fantastic stay here. All the basics are covered - good amenities, location, quiet, good bed, but the difference is the service - everyone was friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile as a matter of course.

We arrived at 1 am after a cross country flight from South Florida. We were warmly greeted and our room keys were waiting for us. Our room was lovely, fresh and clean. Complimentary coffee was available in lobby next morning. We originally planned to stay near Market Square however a stay at the Omni was going to cost half as... More

The staff is extraordinary, the room quality is outstanding, the location is ideal, and the overall experience is wonderful! We were traveling with our two children (ages 2 and 4) and were a little worried that the hotel would be an inappropriate place for their toddler-ness but that wasn't the case at all; the staff was welcoming and excited to... 4 star hotel with 5 star service. Everything was perfect! The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was close to Union Square and Chinatown. Our stay was excellent! If you want to get some exercise, walk up California to catch the trolley that goes all the way to the Warf.

Located in the financial district provides a good jumping off point to the water, Union square, Nob Hill and other areas. The trolly runs right outside the hotel. The staff was attentive and professional. I was granted a room on a higher floor when I experienced some road noise on the fifth floor. We enjoyed the food in the casual... More

The hotel is beautifully preserved, clean and has a very welcoming staff, super friendly and helpful. There was complimentary fruit and spa water in the lobby each day and the staff welcome you each time you come back in the lobby, even remembering your name. Would definitely stay here again. Stayed at another hotel this trip and it was not... More

This hotel is located all the way downtown, literally two blocks from Chinatown (up California Street), walking distance to Union Square and all the shops. The entrance is on the California Street side, valet parking was efficient. Check in was efficient, a bit rocky at first, with the wrong room assigned, but all good in the end. I stayed in... More

I think if you have extra spending $$ and want to splurge, this is the place to be when visiting San Francisco. Centrally located. A few steps from San Francisco's top attractions – Union Square, Ferry Building, Chinatown and North Beach. I love the Italian marble at the lobby. The service is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly. They make you... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
