2Q, 4 guests, 4 nights. There was plenty of space to maneuver around, we never felt cramped, except by the vanity in front of the bathroom. Mini fridge helped with meals, food kiosk by front desk is fairly small, but has a microwave. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, rarely heard any noises from neighbors. Front staff accommodating, friendly. Split... More

Stayed here one night as my daughter was here for a dance audition. Very good location as within walking distance of Union Square and many shops/restaurants. Parking was an extra $54 which was steep, but at least I knew my car was safe as I'd heard stories of cars being vandalized in the open lots around the hotel. And a... More

We will only be staying here again just because of the breakfast buffet. We stayed one night during president's weekend. Front desk was extremely helpful. They told us about the free parking after 6pm on Saturday and Free parking on Sunday across the city, which saved us from using expensive valet. We were able to find parking Saturday when we... This hotel was a 10 minute walk from the Bart train from the airport. We took buses to our destinations which was easy to do from our location with a smart phone. I thought the room was larger than average. We certainly appreciated the vanity separate from the tub and toilet. Our room faced 2nd street, but it was quiet.... More

This is second time in less than a month that I returned to this hotel for another 8 nights of stay......Well the episode was similar to the previous one nothing sober than that. Actually, I have come to terms that these issues are specific to the staff in SF Marriott Downtown on second street. because I stay in Marriott every... More

Dear Phani: Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. The experience you highlight in your review troubles me very much. This is certainly not the type of service our hotel is known for and I am sorry your perception of our hotel has been damaged by this experience. Be assured I am personally following up on your... I like this place; but maybe it's just me. I've stayed here before. I think it's comfortable. It's near AT&T Park so it could get quite crowded during game days. But I don't mind that. Otherwise, it's a quiet area with some street bustle during the morning rush. If you stay here, know that's it's about 5 long blocks to... More

I stayed for 1 night only, in December, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences. The internet was slow, the mattress was so saggy that we kept rolling to the middle of the bed. Internet was veeery slow... And I was charged 20$ per person for a very mediocre breakfast, though I'm Gold member with Marriott and have... More

I had a bad experience. I stayed during a super prime time and booked last minute. I usually stay at the nicer hotels along Market or Mission, like the Palace, Westin, or Vitale. Because of the demand, I paid the highly unfortunate rate of $600 or something, for a Courtyard Marriott. But it was either that or sleep in the... More

In a quiet environment, Marriott Courtyard enabled us to enjoy our deep sleep after hours of traveling on the road. Variety of different cuisines you can choose from the neighboring restaurants till you are spoilt for choice. To satisfy your urge for a snack or drinks at night the supermarket nearby has everything to offer you. It was clean and... More

Nice hotel - good price. Stayed at multiple courtyards this trip they were all very similar. Location was good for touring San Francisco. Good crepe stand short walk from hotel. Parking is expensive. If you are not traveling outside of San Fran then don't get a rental. They have easy airport service for a reasonable price.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
