We stayed 4 nights in a a room with 2 queen beds. The room size is ok, the distance to market street is 1,2km and you get there easy by walking. Parking is expensive, only valet parking 54$ available. You have a public parking just 300 meter away where you pay 15$ -20 $ for a night. The problem is... More

This Courtyard is well above other Courtyard hotels. Maybe because of its superb location and trainers, this will go far in exceeding guest expectations. The front desk staff is very experienced. I personally think they just need more confidence. Wonderful staff though. They are all very professional and follow procedures very well. JT, the Front Office Supervisor, is also an... More

One of the best features of this hotel is that it hasn't fallen to the Marriott corporate "Bistro" renovations (which makes the guest stand in line for breakfast, coffee, anything in the morning). That being said, the management has poorly staffed the restaurant which leads to weird waits and not-quite clean table tops (why anyone would put glass sheets that... More

Thank you for completing a review of our hotel. Please accept my apologies for the poor service you experienced during your breakfast in Jasmines Restaurant. Please be assured I have discussed our staffing coverage with our Food and Beverage Leadership. I was in town for convention and wanted dinner and chance to watch end of football game so i headed to the bar. Almminscky was my waitress and her friendly attitude made the evening a very enjoyable experience. She offered suggestions when asked, made for sure everything was taken care of, and never failed to share her smile. We would... More

It has been years since I have experienced service staff with such a positive attitude. I felt welcomed as a guest and because of the service provided by almminsky, I will most certainly return. Rooms and pillows are great.

I've been staying at several Courtyards by Marriott on recent business and personal trips and overall really am a fan of the value they provide. This location is very competitively priced vs. other the other larger chain hotels in San Francisco. The rooms are neat and clean and well laid out and very comfortable. Onsite parking is valet only and... More

This is a pretty generic hotel, but only a few blocks from Moscone convention center. A bit less expensive than the other convention hotels. Some things I like - free wifi, which is easy to log onto; fast and efficient elevators; starbucks in the lobby. Rooms were fine, nothing special but clean and functional. Convenience store for soda, beer, wine,... More

I'd never stayed in SoMa, but needed a place walkable to AT&T Park and China Basin area (10-12 min. walk). I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It has a lobby grandeur than most Courtyard properties and there are good restaurants, coffee shops and shopping within walking distance (try La Briciola for Italian, 3 blocks away). The rooms were large... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
