Due to circumstances related to fraudulent activity on my card, I was forced to travel with another person's (my father's) card to check-in to hotels. Knowing my situation, I called in advance of my check-in the hotel front desk to find out what I needed to do to be authorized to check in with that card. I had just done... More

The hotel is very old but it's close to Union Square so it's not bad at all if you're only going to sleep here. The noise level it's not a problem here. The rooms are clean and offer free wifi, though breakfast it's not included in the room fare

We were in the city for the JP Morgan, all the hotels booked and crazy expensive We stayed at this hotel- rather small and simple but has everything you need- close to the business district, comfy room and free wifi.

This is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. It is so bad that i decided to write my first review to warn you about the noise. The road noise on the second floor is really incredible. The cars and busses are so loud that i can not hear the TV without blasting the sound. The motor... More

The location of this hotel is great: reasonable drive from airport; walking distance to many amenities in Union Square; just a hop and a skip to Westfield Mall and to SFO famous cable station. Short walking to the subway station, to notorious designer shopping stores, Theatre, pharmacies and restaurants. The Pickwick staff was friend l'y enough, the elevators rarely worked... More

During a major conference week in SF city, this was one of the hotels that still had competitive room rates despite being located close to the Moscone Center where the conference was held. The standard double room I booked, though not super spacious, had a pretty decent size with two beds. The furniture was dated, but that was to be... More

The Pickwick is conveniently located near shopping, the Moscone Center and within two blocks of a BART station. The rooms are a little small, but they are comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We had no issues while staying here and would stay here again.

this was packaged up into an airline deal by priceline so I do not know the real nightly rate. Personally I would not pay more than $110/night for this place. It is a very old building with a clever transformation inside to look more modern but retaining old world charm such as high ceilings, round brass door handles and high... More

Great value! Booked this hotel for 1 night to attend the SF Car Show at nearby Moscone Center and have a nice night out in the city. Staff was friendly upon arrival and provided us with a comfortable corner room with great city and hill views. Windows could be opened which allowed us to enjoy fresh air and sounds of... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
