Loud environs and thin walls - you will hear the busy street and your neighbors. Fitness room. Free breakfast at cafe next door. No room service. Refrigerator in room. Free wi-fi. Small but clean and comfortable rooms.

I stayed at The Pickwick in January for 6 nights. The hotel staff we're wonderful, especially Jacqui on reception, couldn't help enough. The room was spacious although could hear next doors TV through the wall, but luckily I was moved due to some kitchen roof maintenance and was upgraded. The upgraded room wasn't that different apart from leather seating and... More

We have to Good things to say about this Hotel. The location in Downtown and the WiFi. What's not good; Parking extra 45$ a day, rooms were designed in the 80's and VERY worn down. Holes in the furniture vas fixed whit tape. No water on the 8th floor if other guest are using at the same time. Air con... More

Pros: -- Location is excellent - close to transit, Westlake, cable cars. -- Fitness room was unusually spacious; business center PCs and printer both worked well. -- Our room (which faced the back of the hotel) was very quiet. Cons: -- Our room was small (to be expected in a older hotel) but it was also extremely tired (scuffed walls,... More

Great location, all the public transport stops nearby. Staff really helpful. As a solo traveller a lot almost went wrong, tour company had a mix up, travel agent changed my flight check in code to fly to LA. Imelda at the front desk patiently helped sorted it all out. Restaurant is expensive but good at healthy options.

Very close to all public transportation. The bart and cable cars. Easy walk to AT T park 15 minute walk. Older hotel but kept up. Staff very friendly and helpful to clients. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is an old property but well worth the price. If you're into old historical type buildings, this is perfect for you. My family and I were very comfortable for five days. The hotel manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. You can't ask for a better location as you can walk next door to the mall, movies,... More

right in the centre, just where we wanted to be. A little shabby, but our part of the hotel was being renovated, but they will get there. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff very friendly and it was nice to stay in an interesting old building.

$300 per night. Appreciate it's SF so expensive but still expect a reasonable standard. 1. Air conditioning didn't work 2. Tap came off in my hand when I turned it on 3. Water pressure in shower non-existent (a gentle trickle) 4. Working in lounge with colleagues...asked for a coffee (we don't do coffee...are you a hotel?) All in all, please... More

We were pre-booked into this hotel as part of a Californian Touring Holiday. Although the hotel is in an old building, we found it to be very quaint. Our room was small, but adequate for our three night stay. It was clean and had all the facilities you would expect. It is in a central location, being only minutes away... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
