This hotel is like some hostel, but more private! I've been there in May 2012 with my boyfriend. We've stayed in a double room without shower, but the bathroom was in the same floor. The price was good for a comfortable room. The neighborhood is very nice, near Haight Street where you can find markets, pubs and restaurants. In the... More

I called and spoke with the front desk to book my stay, I explained I was driving from Las Vegas and I would not be checking in until around 10pm, she said it wouldn't be a problem. When my husband and I got there 10 hours later we weren't able to find a place to park, we drove a 6... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here during our second trip to San Francisco, so we weren't too concerned with doing the major tourist things. This is not a full service hotel by any means (no room service, no restaurant, no constantly attentive front desk person), and if you're looking for that, you'll be disappointed. That said, this was a wonderful... More

Yeah the 21 bus a block away takes you into the city for $2. Or a half hour walk to moscone, though coming back is all uphill. 3 blocks from Alamo square and 4 blocks from nice local restaurants on haight. Or 5 blocks down on Hayes are ok trendy places and the ever fabulous Boulange bakery for great fattening... More

Unlike the name suggest, this is not a hotel, more like a serviced apartment. There is no daily room service, no 24hrs reception, most rooms have shared bathroom and no elevator. It's a good 30 mins walk from central area.

I've spent 2 nights at the casa Loma in a room with shared bathroom. The room was basic but had the amenities you need (fridge, tv, basin and a very comfy bed) and in such a wonderful city, you don't need much more than this. The shared bathrooms were very clean and so was the room. I haven't had to... More

The Casa Loma is perfect is you're looking for a chilled, urban break. It's 5mins from Alamo Park and it's hilltop views of the city. We had a pretty basic room with a shared bathroom/shower, which was fine. There's a sink in the room and little tv, but that's about it. Downstairs behind reception there was a laundry area and... The only thing keeping this from being an overall 5 is lack of an elevator and no coffee pots in the rooms or even downstairs. That said, the bed and pillows and comforter were comfy, and the sheets and towels were softer than those at a Westin in Long Beach where we stayed earlier on this trip. There was a... More

We stayed here for two nights. Loved the location and the price! We stayed at The Metro for one night, and we both agreed that Casa Loma was better. Bigger room, more light froom outside, fridge in room, hair dryer in room, not so much at The Metro. Yes the metro was more modern, but it's SF who wants modern,... More

After scouring for places, trying to stay in neighborhood areas, we landed with this after other seemingly better options were fully booked. We had the "suite" on the ground floor, which had a privated bathroom and kitchen "across" the hall, yet inside your "unlocked" area. The main room was actually 2 rooms, one with queen bed i think, and the... More
