First of all my fiancé and I had a comfortable happy stay on the 4th floor at the Cable Car Court hotel located on 1499 Calofornia Street. We got a studio room with its own private bathroom (or toilet and shower room). Secondly Cable Car Court Hotel is more of a block of furnished apartments than a hotel (meaning it... More

the location of the hotel is good, price is reasonable. Location and prize are the highlights of the hotel. Room and common areas are clean. Washing machine and dryers available for $2.5 each (in 25c coins).

We recently stayed at the cable car for a week. We had a very good experience. Great value for San Francisco. The room is small, however it was exceptionally clean. There was a fridge and microwave which was convenient. Staff were very helpful with any need we had. The cable car line runs directly in front of the hotel. Some... More

Cable car stop right in front of the building which works perfectly for those that grab an unlimited Muni pass to get around during their visit. If you're looking for a posh hotel to spend most of your visit in, this probably isn't your hotel. But if you're looking for budget friendly to lay your head down in between exploring... More

For a tourist this hotel did the trick. It was located right in front of the cable car where we could use our city pass to ride to all of our bus stops and restaurants. When we arrived at the hotel we were kind of scared, it was dark and located right next to a bar. The elevator is one... More

Bear in mind that this is a residential hotel. We are four and we rented two rooms because the double rooms are minimalistic. We would have prefered a coffee maker instead of the microwave. Don't accept a room on the lower level or facing the inner yard: there is a gym in the basement and the first class starts daily... More

We are presently stayed by at the cable car court located at 1499 California street on the junction of Larkin. It is vintage hotel which is value for money. The hotel is located near the popular streets such as union square, and bang opposite wherethe cable car( tram) runs. You can walk to your right and reach Jefferson street while... More

When we got to the hotel we couldn't get in because nobody at the desk would answer the phone, if it weren't for other guests showing up who knows how long we'd be out there. Overall the service was good, they were really nice, but the room we stayed in had bedbugs and every morning I had new bites all... More

The hotel is basic but for a trip where most of your time is spent exploring the city then it's perfect. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. We bought some cereal, milk and plastic cutlery from trader joes which was just a couple minutes walk away. The cable car stops outside which takes you to Powell street... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
