My complaints with this hotel are not with the hotel itself, it's with the location. The rooms are OK, it's undergoing renovation right now, so I don't feel good rating it on amenities, but what I can say is: when you leave - do not turn right. I'm not sure what is on the corner to the right, but there... More

The hotel seems nice enough up front. All of the decorations have been updated but...rooms have ceiling fans instead of air conditioning. Old school toilets that need to be replaced, or at least the seats do. My particular room had a problem with the bathroom fan where it just made a ridiculous amount of noise; doesn't really make sense why... More

Location good, right next door to the famous Taylor Street Coffee Shop, and within walking distance to most places. The staff were very nice my only gripe was we were on the front of the hotel for four nights and I never slept a wink. The noise throughout the night was horrendous, I did ask if we could move, but... More

Price was great, location was perfect for accessibility to downtown shopping, work out room was just right to get in some morning exercise, the room was clean and the people very friendly and helpful. But the best part of all was their honesty -- I had left my camera in the room upon checking out. I didn't realize I had... More

Our visit to San Francisco started with a 2 day stay at the Mark Twain hotel. Registration was efficient and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Although an older hotel, it is well maintained. The only elevator is very small and can only take 1 or 2 person 2 plus luguage. Room had BIG flat screen TV. Best place... More

I'm in San Francisco once a month for work. I found this hotel by accident. The address was a bit out of my normal zone, but what a great place. The room was decent sized for SF and the staff was great. One small cool thing? Wood shutters in the room.

Stayed here with some girl friends for a couple nights. We spent the week in napa, so coming to a tiny hotel room was a bit of an adjustment. There isn't any a/c, which is fine as it was cool at night. The bathrooms are tiny and outdated. Only reason I didn't give it five stars when it came to... More

I stayed at the Mark Twain for business. The room was clean and comfortable, but in need of updating. The lack of air conditioning was a big minus. Traveling to my appointment the next morning was very convenient because of the location. However, walking to the hotel from the subway at night was a little unsettling. Dark alleys abound and... My stay at this hotel was pleasant. The location was convenient. My impression of the area was questionable, but it was not as bad as I had thought initially. The room was very clean and no smells which is a big deal for me. The best service ever was from Kemal he is very personable and helpful. He really would... More

Old boutique hotel. Some rooms more updated than others . Bathrooms could use an update. Although there was no air conditioning , the overhead fans worked well. The staff went beyond friendly and helped make our visit a success. Jemal was awesome!
