This hotel is currently undergoing many necessary renovations. If you are looking to stay here during Summer 2014, I would be cautious to not visit until renovations are completed. We chose this hotel because of the location. We were looking to stay in the Union Square area. This hotel is within walking distance to Union Square which meant easy access... More

We stayed at Hotel Mark Twain for 4 nights and were satisfied with the overall experience. The location is good; it's about a 5 minute walk to Union Square. It is important to note that you should be careful not to venture too far from the hotel without knowing where you are going because you can end up in the... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the Mark Twain and found the location to be excellent (5 mins from Union Square), the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price to be very reasonable. The rooms were clean and well kept, though the hotel is currently under refurbishment which it needs. The facilities are all good however a little... More

Really lovely small property perfectly located (walking distance) to the heart of SF. VERY comfortable room. Nice updates since my last visit enhance the overall experience. I had a room off the street--it was really quiet--neither the other guests nor SF in general disturbed me. Staff was really pleasant and helpful--made me feel like they were glad I was staying... We chose the Hotel Mark Twain because of the price, parking fee and walking distance to Union Square. The service was great from any staff member. The room was large enough, the bathroom a bit small. We stayed 3 nights and on the 2nd morning we awoke to no hot water for a shower. We had to wait about an... More

We booked at the Hotel Mark Twain because it was really one of the few hotels with available double beds. We were 3 people in one room so one queen bed would have not worked. The place was nothing to write home to mom about, but it was close to the city. There is one tiny elevator off the lobby... More

The convention hotel was fully booked, so I reserved a room across the street at a hotel with an amazing history and vibe. In the early 1900's, having a view from your room wasn't such a big deal. I had to close my blinds (white Plantation shutters) to keep from looking into the rooms across the courtyard 20 feet away.... More

I've spend a couple of nights here both for business and for a kind of a tourist/city trip weekend. I've booked via booking.com and should have checked my booking more carefully because I was not too satisfied. There is no real breakfast, you can have breakfast next door but it is Always crowded there so you might have to wait... More

We booked our room on Hotwire, and so didn't know which hotel we were getting until we paid. I was very relieved to read many good reviews about this hotel. We arrived at almost midnight on a Tuesday, and the front desk clerk was great to give us a room away from Taylor Street, with two beds, even though Hotwire... More

I found this hotel in booking.com as my colleagues booked my something in South SFO and I wanted to stay closer in town. The location of the hotel is very nice and the staff, reception and rooms are nice too. I enjoyed my stay here - also because I love this city !!!
