Having stayed at many Marriott properties and being a loyal Gold status member, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to Jr. Suite upon check-in. The ease of check-in to the the late check-out request (3 pm!) granted - made for one of my best stays at a Marriott. It's not that this is the best hotel I have ever... More

This is your typical, by the numbers Marriott. Very simple. Very safe. Very reliable. What puts it over the edge is the fact that its priced reasonably and that the location is outstanding. Especially well situated for business and for sightseeing. Some tourists might like the idea of being closer to the Wharf, but trust me, this gives you far... More

Read this in the context of a weekend stay, not for business. It's a good business hotel or a hotel for people looking for a good SF location and not planning on spending too much time in the room. The renovation was done extremely poorly. Rooms are laid out poorly and there is a lot of inefficient use of space.... More

My husband and I initially had a reservation at another Marriott location in the area, and switched over to the San Francisco Marriott Union Square at the last minute, because of the location. We got King bed room on a higher floor, and while the room was small (always to be expected in a city!), it was clean and comfortable... More

if you love chinatown in SF, this is the place to stay. Literally across the street to all sorts of good food and fun shopping. Also within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, and is a short taxi ride to the Golden Gate bridge and Presidio. The hotel is a little dated, but had great service and I would recommend.

The location couldn't be better -- right on Union Square, steps away from shops and restaurants. Had one meal at the hotel's basic-looking bar counter, which turned out to be a wonderful surprise -- fresh-tasting and stylishly presented food, friendly bartender, reasonable prices. Our room was a nice size, the staff were efficient if not friendly, and the hotel had... More

This was the perfect location for me - convenient to Union Square and walkable to work/food. The hotel is compact and easy to navigate from the lobby. My king room was small, but very comfortable. The concierge lounge was on par with any full-service Marriott and the gym was large with newer equipment. Parking is steep ($55), which seems on part... Recently stayed for a night on business and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive, room was excellent and the location is superb. This hotel will become my new go to location whenever I visit the Bay Area.

I stayed here for a few days on business, the room was tiny, just big enough for the bed and a chair. The bathroom was even smaller, the sink was teeny. The nice thing about his marriott is that it doesnt have a giant motor lobby that make getting in and out hard. It is also smaller than their other... More
