I was a little concerned about staying at this place - some of the reviews - especially comments about safety, staff and the area in general. Here I go with my views and opinions.... Travelodge is a budget/value chain. Keep that in mind - so have realistic expectations - I only paid $69 plus tax per night. The area this... More

The last time I stayed at this motel was in June of 2010, but I'd like to share some of my experiences of staying at the Travelodge between August of 2008 and June of 2010. I will not include details I am unsure about. I've stayed at the Travelodge 5 times: August 2006; May 2007; September 2008; November 2011; and... More

Had never been to the Travelodge before. Thought it might be a little seedy to be honest. To my surprise, it was far from it. Room was not huge but fit two people fine. The bathroom was big;tub shower, towels, even a hair dryer. Had all the smaLL things you don't think you will need, coffee maker, microwave and a small... More

When I got there I was surprised that I had to pay $17 extra for parking each night. There was a trio of young men in the stairway landing blocking the way as they lingered there smoking cigarettes or whatever. Drugs being used in the automobile next to where I parked. Just marijuana, but still, disconcerting. Not a family place.... More

The Travelodge on Market Street in San Francisco looks like an older era motel, but even though its location in San Francisco is less than the most desirable place to stay, it was a relatively quiet and comfortable stay. Most importantly, the Internet worked without a hitch -- aside from having to sign in each day. The motel is about... More

The hotel in San Francisco was disgusting, employees making fun of guests in another language that I speak, charged me full price when I wanted a partial refund cause the Internet never worked. I was so angry!!

Bad Customer Servie, front desk people don't care about their clients. I have stayed here before and was average but this time it was really bad but at least internet connection works better then it did in my previous stay. Rooms although have been renovated still have a musky smell, toilet was leaking and could hear water running. Worse of... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
