Worst place to stay. Scary surroundings, dirty rooms, no parking spot even though you pay $17/night and still lots of theft, Don't ever stay in this hotel if you have kids. You will never sleep peacefully. It is that scary and noisy

Arrived late at night to find that the requested room had a problem with the bathroom and was given a smaller room with 1 bed instead of the 2 needed. Total exhaustions made us take this room which was filthy and the bed smelled awful. Outside I saw 7 rats on the roof and in the parking lot which just... More

Found ourselves needing a last minute hotel and blind booked this hotel. The area itself isn't bad but the hotel is less than ideal. Shady, scary, loud..homeless people roaming...it's VERY SKETCHY. There are 4 packs of ear plugs in the room for the inconveniences and to help you sleep. The lights are really dim in the rooms, the blow dryer... More

You pay for what you get, right? The rates were good but the hotel is on the border of the Tenderloin, with quite a few unsavoury characters around. Not quite the meth hotel in Breaking Bad but not that far off. For my money I would rather stay at the USA Hostels and share a room there, rather than sharing... More

Arranged to stay at the Travelodge Central in San Francisco.. Payment was due in February and paid in full for a 3 night stay in September.. Was advised two weeks ago that they were overbooked at our quoted price and we would have to pay up to three times the original amount.. I think this is not only unethical, but... More

The room we we're in was noisy. There's like someone moving furnitures every night for few hours. The a/c is directly adjacent to the other double bed. So it's very uncomfortable.

Not safe at anytime. Sounds in walls very disturbing. This for the Travelodge on Market in Castro district. Strangers were sleeping in stairwells. Urine smell prevalent in all areas. Never again. NEVER. Location good for trolley to Wharf come back before dark!

Bad service, bad area, lot of problems that involves also some of the guests during night, remodeling the hotel so it's pretty noisy, ugly rooms, terrible restrooms, no iron some how you need to leave a deposit of $20.00 to use it, the good part is the rooms are clean and the train stop that takes you to fisherman's warf... Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
