I stayed here for 3 nights last weekend. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was good sized and clean. The maid service was excellent and bath towels/bed sheets were replaced/made everyday. TV was functional, but I was in town for an interview and some sightseeing, so didn't spend much time in the room. The street noise can be... More

Had to make a last minute trip and the usual places I book thru my company travel portal in the area were either booked or outrageously expensive. This led me to find The Baldwin which I wouldn't select as my first choice but would confidently book here again if needed. The location is awesome, staff friendly and very helpful with... More

Clean and comfortable. We had room 1607 which was away from the lift and front so quiet. Adequate size bathroom. Downside was the size of the bed. Was an old fashioned double bed, so pretty small for two. Old style lift which was fine except the compliance certificate states it ran out in 2015. Staff could be more friendly, bit... More

The hotel's location is perfect, if you want to stay downtown near Chinatown, Union Square, BART stations and North Beach. The entrance to Chinatown is literally 500 feet from the hotel. The hotel is small and room itself was fine, but dated. The restroom showed the most wear and tear with chips in the toilet seat (toilet seats are easy... More

My fiance and I stayed in room 1903 (corner room). It wasn't a terrible stay but the bed was a double which was a little too small for us. It got pretty cold at night and I wasn't able to get fully warm because the hotel regulates the temperature of your room. The hotel itself is steps away from the... More

Charming and quaint (wood panelling on ground floor, very impressive); good size rooms and bathroom. Staff were great - really helped with bus routes to GG Bridge. Tea and coffee on ground floor most welcome. Highly recommended

I stayed at the Baldwin Hotel last week for three nights. The hotel was extremely easy to find walking from the Montgomery Street BART. It is an old building and quite small - very much like hotels I have stayed in before in London. The room itself was plenty big enough for one person with a comfortable queen sized bed,... More

Perfect for what we needed. Easy access on public transport from the airport and close to Chinatown and Union Square. We used the hop on off bus to get around as it stopped across the road. Staff were helpful. Room was a little overheated.

Bed is very comfy, we have room 9013 which is super small, but close to transport and Chinatown Staff seem pleasant enough. Big bus stops right across the road. Would be nice to have tea/coffee in room. Tried the one in the foyer once but it was bitter and inky has powdered creamer, not good in tea!

Spent 3 nights at the Baldwin. Great location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Rooms were ok, nothing flashy but everything you need. Service was very good, our tv remote wasn't working and they were very prompt to replace. Overall hotel is in good location and good for short stays at a decent price
