This hotel is a well placed hotel, right on grant street next to Chinatown. Only a 5 minute walk to union square and macey's. The hotel it's self is dated and a little run down. The rooms are small and no air-conditioning the bathroom is tiny and the lift is something else- tiny and old! But it beats using the... More

Location right next to China Town is great. Arrived by car and parked right in front of the hotel. Had to wait a few minutes for the car to be picked up by the valet (so no self parking). The room was nice, not that big, but very similar to what I'm used to when travelling Europe. Very clean. Great... More

I had mixed feelings about this hotel because of what was around it. It was in an excellent location, customer service was great and reasonably priced... there wasn't much for what you got. Elevators were quite daunting and cramped, only tea and water available to guests, little room amenities available. The rooms are small and very awkward, and many things... More

The Baldwin Hotel is well worth considering for those visiting the city on a budget. The location is excellent. Although the hotel is small and not all that fancy, it has nice rooms, is clean and well taken care of. I stayed here during a week-long meeting in the city and I have nothing but praise for the place. This... More

Having stayed in other hotels in SF, within similar price range, Hotel Baldwin was a letdown. The room is small and layout is funny. The queen sized bed is equivalent to a single standard bed in other hotels. Bed sink when you sleep in it. TV is weirdly located at the side of the bed, you either sit or lie... More

We came to San Francisco for 4 nights at Baldwin Hotel. The hotel room was perfect, the room had a good size and nothing was missing. The hotel is kind of an old building which seems to have been renewed not long ago. I would recommend in case you share your bed with friend or partner to be aware about... More

We loved our stay at the Baldwin Hotel a few weeks ago. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the surprise towel arrangements every morning. The location is great, just next to China Town and a short stroll to Union Square and the main shopping strips. Highly recommended!

Beware. While the hotel does have a great location, the bed's are literally the equivalent of going to Lowes or Home Depot and just asking for a sheet a plywood and throwing sheets on it. For sure no heavenly beds here.

Dear guest: Thank you for choosing the Baldwin Hotel, we appreciate your business and comments. I'm so sorry to hear about the uncomfortableness that you experienced with our mattress since we have been using good quality Sealy or Simmons mattress for years. It's always nice to have comments and we would like to thank you again for your feedback. Chester... More

Location is good, next to chinatown and 10 mins walk to union square. Also 10 mins walk to bart, muni and cable car station. Price is a bit high (in my opinion) because a room is very small but if compare with other hotels nearby, this still worth to pay.

Hotel has an excellent location - right in the shopping district and a block from Chinatown. Even though there is a lot of activity on the street, we stayed on the 5th floor and with the windows closed you hardly heard the road traffic. The price was very good as compared to other hotels in the area. The room was... More
