The hotel was clean! The room was small but we didn't need any more that what it offered. Comfy bed, large pillows, tv that worked. Water was always hot. No air conditioning we went in February so we didn't need it. But on a hot summer day that would be a concern. The location was perfect. So close to China... More

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in late December. We could not have been happier with the location, it was clean and comfortable. Some people may find it to be a little small, however, for this location it is a great trade off.

Despite being recently refurbished according to their website, we found the twin double room rather cramped and dark with not much else to offer apart from a bed for the night. but on the plus side, it had everything you needed for a centrally located hotel and no more.

Clean, good service, reasonable room size for the price, and great location next to Union Square, China Town and many businesses. The only negative that is worth mentioning is the elevator slow and old.

As first time visitors to San Francisco and arriving exhausted after flight from London, this was a great choice. It's really good value - we came back to the city at the end of our trip and this hotel was booked up, which made us realise what good value it is. The hotel is right next to China town and... More

This hotel is a well placed hotel, right on grant street next to Chinatown. Only a 5 minute walk to union square and macey's. The hotel it's self is dated and a little run down. The rooms are small and no air-conditioning the bathroom is tiny and the lift is something else- tiny and old! But it beats using the... More

Location right next to China Town is great. Arrived by car and parked right in front of the hotel. Had to wait a few minutes for the car to be picked up by the valet (so no self parking). The room was nice, not that big, but very similar to what I'm used to when travelling Europe. Very clean. Great... More

I had mixed feelings about this hotel because of what was around it. It was in an excellent location, customer service was great and reasonably priced... there wasn't much for what you got. Elevators were quite daunting and cramped, only tea and water available to guests, little room amenities available. The rooms are small and very awkward, and many things... More

The Baldwin Hotel is well worth considering for those visiting the city on a budget. The location is excellent. Although the hotel is small and not all that fancy, it has nice rooms, is clean and well taken care of. I stayed here during a week-long meeting in the city and I have nothing but praise for the place. This... More

Having stayed in other hotels in SF, within similar price range, Hotel Baldwin was a letdown. The room is small and layout is funny. The queen sized bed is equivalent to a single standard bed in other hotels. Bed sink when you sleep in it. TV is weirdly located at the side of the bed, you either sit or lie... More
