The Baldwin hotel is a clean, basic, great value hotel in an excellent location. You are steps from Chinatown, a couple blacks from Union square and central to the cities other attractions. The Golden Gate Bridge, AT&T Park, Fishermans Wharf are all no more than a 5 min cab ride. The hotel is in a very safe area with lots... More

Stayed three nights and had already read other reviews, so knew what to expect. An old fashioned hotel located a short walk from Chinatown, but close enough to all the other attractions. Yes, here is a lot of noise, but it s a city, and although we got woken at 2.30am by the garbage collection, we expected that as previous... More

If you need somewhere clean, comfortable and we'll situated in San Francisco you can't go wrong with the Baldwin. No bells and whistles but great location, friendly staff and good size rooms. I e been here twice now and I'd suggest it to others on a bit of a budget looking for a good hotel in central SF.

We stayed here based upon other Tripadvisor reviews. This little, old-fashioned hotel is located steps away from the Chinatown gate, in a great location. The price per night can't be beat, we spent HALF the money here then we did the year before at a pricier hotel around the corner. The place is clean, has a nice sitting area and... More

It is a Basic hotel but good value at the price we got. A short walk into China town and down to the ferry building? Just down the road from union square, Macy's and Marshalls for a spot of shopping. The Irish bank pub across the road also a friendly place to eat and drink. A good base for an... More

We had a great 3 night stay in this hotel. It is conveniently located in the heart of the city surrounded by shops and restaurants. Also located close to the BART station and is on the route of the hop on hop off buses. The staff were very helpful me friendly and the room was clean and tidy. Only negative... More

And therefore the hotel prices is quite high. The hotel has a good location in the center of the city, but that also gives a lot of noise. With no aircon you have to open the windows, and be woken by the emptying of dumpsters in the middle of the night. The room was clean, and the reception staff was... More

After 2 hours awaiting clearance from immigration at SFO the hotel offered a great place to rest the head. Room was clean and tidy, with a really cute little "towel sculpture" on the bed. Checking in was easy and the staff helpful that justified our choice of hotel. They offer a soft drink and coffee area, that is great for... More

Great location in the heart of the city. Right at the Chinatown gate. Also close to shopping and Union Square. Business friendly location. The location was close (relatively speaking) to my meeting locales. Fairly close to the BART station, just a few blocks away. My room was clean. The bathtub is good for a soak, after a long day of... Stayed at the Baldwin during 4 day visit to san Francisco. Very helpful staff proactive in helping arrange for all 3 family rooms to be on the same floor. I travel a lot for business using many hotels and cannot remember ever staying in a cleaner hotel rooms are spotless. Recommend!
