Me and my wife stayed at the Castle Inn for 3 nights and we were greeted by a friendly staff the manager on shift I believe was Mark. He was very helpful and I also liked the free parking and wifi. The rooms are very clean and recently renovated. I would recommend staying here and it is not too far... More

A convenient place to stay for business in San Francisco. It's a bit away from the main tourist areas but you can get the cable car if you walk up a really, really (!) big hill to get it. Good parking and clean and comfortable beds. However I would like to mention Marshall who looked after our party of four.... More

Have just been travelling for 6 weeks, and this was the worst accommodation we experienced. The reception staff were hit and miss, some friendly, most not! The breakfast included was a joke, very basic. It was served in the tiny reception area, no seats. Only served packet Danishes, muesli bars, yoghurt. The yoghurt I took back to the room to... More

The Motel is perfectly located to all worth seeing sights. It was clean and i felt comfortable. Fridge, Microwave, coffee machine, flat iron/ Ironing board available. Also you have free parking lots either in the inner courtyard or in the parking garage in the Basement, which is a Little bit narrow though. The staff was very friendly and helpful, showed... More

This hotel has a good location in the center of the city. The parking is difficult to get into but it does have parking. The hotel lobby we shut from 11:00 PM to 7:15 AM in the morning so no breakfast available and if you need something or have problem forget it. I am amazed there is no one available.... More

Choose because of free parking and location. Room was very noisy. Could hear hotel alarms and elevator bell all night. Wifi did not work at all. Free breakfast was only coffee, juice and prepackaged rolls, and no place to eat. Staff was wonderful and very helpfull.

Free on site parking. Nothing posh in the hotel but it is clean and serviceable if somewhat eclectic. Reception staff very helpful, we arrived late (plane took off 2 1/2 hours late from Newark), reception was closed for the night but soon opened politely on the night bell. No Holy Bible, no bath plug, noisy A/C and intrusive traffic noise... More

My husband and I with our service dog stayed at Castle Inn for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, free parking, free WiFi, free simple breakfast. The location is the key, we walked to China Town and fisherman's wharf. There are a lot of restaurants at this area. The girl at front desk told us... More

Great find, quiet room in a good part of town. On a three week road trip we stayed here one night. The underground parking was a boon in a town thats easier to get around on foot and by bus. We arrived far too early to check in ( see my review on leaving san jose!) But the friendly reception staff... More

We stayed here for four nights and found the hotel to be ideally located for getting around San Francisco. There were plenty of great restaurants and pubs nearby. We could walk to all the local attractions (if you don't mind hills) such as union square and fisherman's wharf. We stayed in a family suite and the only minor complaint was... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
