We stayed in a two bedroom room whilst sightseeing in San Francisco. Room was clean, and spacious. Really fantastic value and great location. Staff were really helpful and could not do enough for us. Would definitely recommend

Booked this on a recommendation from friends who stayed last Xmas and comments on trip advisor. We really enjoyed our stay, great location (handy to Fisherman's Wharf). The staff were fantastic offering great advice on how to get around, what to see and do. The room was really comfortable and clean, we will stay again when we return.

Being in the airline industry, I get to travel and spend time in nice hotels all around the world. When I go on vacation, I like to be in a good location and I like like getting a good deal for hotels! After much shopping for expensive San Francisco, I was really happy with the Columbus Inn. It's right in... More

Room was admittedly dated but very clean and spacious. In-room coffee and amenities were great. Bed was not the most comfortable ever but certainly not the worst and the bedding was very nice. No in-room fridge but I understand that you can get one (for $10/ night I think). The window (patio door) actually opens which I love but if... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 3yr old. & 7mth old. The room they gave us faced what loked like a private club, was not impressed uth the thought of partying outside our window while our kids tried to sleep. We'd booked a 2 bedroom, but the room was single. We'd organised to hire a fridge, it wasn't... More

The staff is extremely nice, the room was clean. The hotel is tired and dated but it was the only place I could get a room with big conventions in town. It is close to Pier 39. I had a 10 minute taxi from the hotel to the federal building downtown. Again, the staff is nice and the room is... More

Free parking, free internet, walking distance to the wharf and Lombard Street (rough hills - but doable), and safe neighboorhood. Walgreens available just up the street for any needs. We had room 302 and while it was by the ice machine - my husband and I were not disturbed. We had a balcony, a beautiful view of Coit Tower and... More

We come to San Fran to enjoy the city not to sit around in a hotel room. This place is clean and comfy and centrally located. The price can't be beat, especially with free parking and WiFi! Use the $$$ you'll save staying here to enjoy a great food/drink experience the city has to offer!

I require nothing more when I visit San Francisco than a clean room, free parking, and central location. This hotel has all of that and cable TV, WIFi and a total lack of noise. I come here to sleep. I spend the days in the beautiful city.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
