This motel is located very near to the Fisherman's wharf and also the end station for the tram that can take you to Union Square. Service was excellent and the room was comfortable(don't expect too much). My only complain is that there is a nightclub next door which could be a problem for light sleepers.

Taking into account the price (compared to other SF locations) this place is a bargain for someone looking for basic accommodation in a good location in SF. Free parking is great for those that need it (we did), walking distance to fishermans wharf, bus stop out the front to get anywhere else and only a block or so from a... More

The only reason this gets a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the hotel is quite old and dated. However with all the pros to this hotel you don't even notice. Staff at check in were very efficient and helpful. We had a room with 2 x queen beds and a sitting area that was at the back... More

We picked this inn for the affordable (for SF prices) family suite and free parking. The family suite is two bedrooms, 1 bath. The rooms were clean. The location was great for exploring SF...we walked to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard street, Ghirardelli Square, & Alcatraz tours.

As two seniors on a long road trip we wanted to be able to park the car and access all the city by the bay had to offer with ease. Perfect choice! And we got cleanliness, comfort, a good price and friendly staff as well. Who could ask for anything more? We felt safe and contented her.

On our Bi-annual San Francisco trip we stayed here for one night. Asked for a King room in the back. We stayed in room 309. King room with no view. Look out the window and there is an exterior wall about 6 feet away. No street noise! Nice and quiet. If you want a view get out and walk around!... More

Stayed here 3-9 April 2015, for the San Fran part of our trip. Chose it from TA reviews - very pleased we did! Is a superb location, 1 block from cable car start & 10 min slow walk to Fishermans Wharf & Pier 39. Good bars nearby & great restaurants further down the street. Walgreens 1 block away for essentials.... More

The room was clean and there is easy free parking (unheard of in San Francisco). We stayed there with family. We had just moved from the Mandarin Oriental - so there isn't a fair comparison. This hotel is very well located. The beds were comfortable. The front desk staff and housekeeping were all attentive. This type of clan, safe, value... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
