This hotel was clean. We chose it because it included parking in the hotel cost. That is a big plus! The hotel desk clerk that was working most of the time that we were there was extremely happy and helpful. We enjoyed talking with him every time that we entered or left the hotel. The only issue with staying here,... More

The location of this property is superb, cable cars round corner, bus at front door, walking distance to just about everything. Room was great, extremely comfortable beds and very clean. We arrived at midnight and there was no fridge in the room but it was delivered early the next morning. The TV did not work but maintenance fixed it quickly... More

Amazing location , near the wharf and near little Italy, free parking, clean and big rooms, although the rooms are outdated but they have all the ameneties. The beds are great. Excellent for families.

My husband and I stayed here 5/30/15-6/5/15. I highly recommend this hotel! First of all, I liked the location. It is within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach and Chinatown. The bus stop is literally just outside the door to go to Market Street. The cable car line is one street over. Plenty of food options nearby. Very convenient... More

We walked everywhere. Close to Fisherman's Wharf. Walked to Alcatraz Pier. Room was neat and clean.Furniture slightly dated ( 1980's ?) Free parking was a bid bonus for area. Staff was helpful with directions. Would stay again.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel as we could leave the motor for 3 days and explore the city by public transport and walking . We got the bus to union sq and could walk back through Chinatown . Fisherman's wharf was a short stroll and there is a 2$ beer available just up the road... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and have no complaints at all. The location was perfect - situated close to Fisherman's Wharf and all the activity, but also very convenient for drivers - Columbus Avenue is so easy to find in SF and it was always easy getting back to our lodgings. The bonus of free parking also helped. The... More

Honestly, when I go on vacation to a major metropolitan area, I look to find value and cleanliness. I don't get caught up in what my room looks like, because I don't plan on spending a lot of time in it. The Columbus Motor Inn was recommended to us by individuals who could easily afford the luxurious hotels in the... More

My in-laws just stayed here on a visit to San Francisco, and it was a good choice. Nothing fancy, but the key word is value - in a city filled with pricey hotels, they got a suite for just $235 a night plus taxes. They had room 315, which was a good size and had three large beds, one of... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
