As we learned recently, staying downtown (or close to it) in San Francisco is verrrry expensive. Luckily we found this place. Still fairly pricey, but with wifi and parking included this place is a gem. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our room was a good size. I know some people think it's too loud in this area but... More

We got a good price for this hotel thru the Internet $74 a night. The rooms were clean and spacious, it was very central to the wharf, SF zoo etc. it did have parking a plus, but the spots were very close. Our room was the closest to the street and a little noisey. I would recommend it, if you... More

We stayed here one night with our 2 kids (3.5 & almost 2) in order to meet up with our kids 4 grandparents as they traded places on a cruise ship. We did not pick this hotel. We stayed here because my parents and their friends were going to be here so it was convenient. The area is nice. The... More

We had quite a small room for a family of four. There were two queen sized beds, a desk and some hanging space. There were no drawers, so we weren’t able to unpack our suitcases. The bathroom was large and there was ample hot water for showering. The room had a fridge with icebox, a microwave and a coffee maker.... More

We stayed there for 3 nights before a cruise in April. It is built on a busy junction which can be a bit noisy but earplugs are provided. Rooms are basic clean and comfortable with fridge, microwave iron and board but no safe. Built in the typical "thrown up" in a month motel style that the Americans do so well.... More

I don't really expect much from this sort of Hotel/Motel, but I was really disappointed in this one we didn't arrive in San Francisco until after 10pm due to flight delays and it was nearly 11pm when we checked in, as they advertise Tea/Coffee making facilities in the Room, we though we would have a cuppa then just bed down,... Probably one of the better value budget hotels in SF. Make sure to use the provided ear plugs, especially if you have a room near Lombard St like I did. I also had someone above me playing loud music and stomping around. Room was clean and staff were nice.

The location was really good - walking distance (15 mins) to the marina/fishermans wharf, and a couple of blocks from the buses and trams which connect with the rest of the city. The area is not dodgy at all, even at night we felt really safe. Free car parking! Room was a little dated but great value for money and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend visiting the city. I was a bit weary about this hotel due to all the negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We had a room with two beds. There is also a desk with a chair, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, chest of drawers, flat screen TV, and a rack to hang... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
