This was so far the cheapest hostel I found for my price range (<30usd). The hostel is located on Taylor street, one of the main streets in town, making it very easy to walk around famous spots (Union Square, BART station, China town, etc). Staff were friendly, easy-going and informative to answer your questions. There are free city maps and... More

The staff in this hostel are not ever going to win any awards for friendliness. It all started so well, 'yes of course you may leave your valuables here while you go galavanting off to Oakland'. We come back and meet a friendly Swedish couple in our room which had it's own private bathroom for just the four of us.... More

The location is great, and it is certainly a cheap hostel for San Francisco. However, don't go here expecting a lot - everything is dated, fairly basic and (depending on the room) may be quite noisy thanks to being located directly on the street. Everything seemed to be clean, at least, and for the price you can't really ask for... More

It's in a very central place and you can get to any important SF Downtown landmark in 15-30 mins. The hostel has a number of communal areas where you can relax or socialise with other travellers. Generally it's the 25-35 generation on low budget that it appears to attract from which a certain atmosphere can concluded. Overall very well equipped,... More

If you're traveling as a couple and want a private room this is not the place to go. The queen size bed hardly accommodates two persons, the room is unclean and the facilities are generally in bad shape. On top there is a loud humming noise that randomly goes on and will certainly disturb your sleep if you're not a... More

We stayed for 3 nights. The room is ok. The Bed is way to small for 2 persons(130cm) bathroom is clean. Toiletseat was to small for the toilet. Our view from the window was on a wall. Now and again was there was loud noise like someone is vacumcleaning next door. To bad its in the middle of the night... More

I booked my room online directly on their website and then printed off my confirmation, including the price. That should be enough right? Wrong, not for this place. I arrived after a long flight around 8pm and was shocked that they told me they were going to charge me double the confirmed price as there had been an error on... More

Originally booked at Park Hotel but for unknown reasons they cancelled my booking. Found this hostel instead. It's mostly young people staying here. A kitchen in the basement which we did not use. Good clean place to sleep in San Francisco

The one good thing about this hostel is the location, but even that isn't great. The reception staff weren't very helpful and one day I walked down to hear a screaming match between 2 staff members. Amsterdam offers 3 night time activities, a Bar Crawl on a Wednesday, Beer Olympics on a Friday and Awesome Foursome on the Sunday, but... More

I stayed here for one night in August, and while I was grateful for a room (SF was packed with tourists) I was less than impressed by the quality of this place. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm with ensuite bathroom. The bathroom didn't have a hand towel, hand dryer or paper towels. The beds were extremely creaky... More
