No stranger to hostels, this place is LITERALLY the worst place I've ever been. The hostel staff are completely incompetent. They can't complete even the simplest requests. We got moved to a private room, $60 a night double what the dorm rooms are, toilet didn't flush no hot water in shower. Made staff aware- response was ill get the guy... More

This is my first time to write a negative review about anything. I do believe that one should say when the provided service is bad but especially when it is good. When the service or the place is bad though, I do tend to find excuses not to tell people to stay away from it: yes, we all have bad... More

Our stay at this hostel did not get off to a great start when the lady at reception told us to wait to be checked in as she was finishing her shift. When we were check in, this took a total of 2 minutes as we were given a quite impersonal overview of where our room and the facilities were... More

Pros: -My 4 bed mixed dorm came with its own bathroom. -Location is central, easy to get around. - staff is mostly friendly - free wifi -cheap Cons: - free breakfast consists of a rather dirty looking bucket of pancake mix and one stove. Decided to buy breakfast every day rather than queue up for goop. - there's only 7... More

I have traveled a lot and I have stayed in a few horrible hostels. Amsterdam Hostel in San Francisco was by far the worst experience I have had. Not only was the place disgusting, but the staff is completely incompetent. I had booked a mixed dorm room for a colleague and I for 1 night. Upon arriving I discovered that... More

Spent the last three nights here. Reception staff were friendly enough but didn't go out of their way by any means. Blankets in dorms are glorified dog rugs. Very cold nights. Got woken up several times each night by a grinding metal sound which I couldn't identify, but this was at 3 4 and 5 am. Could be a much... More

Clean little hostel in a great location. I have stayed there for couple of nights. Nothing fancy.. its just like any other hostel, sharing the room and bathroom with others! most of people there are young and like to meet new friends and chat. I meet really nice people there (its not your best option if you're looking for a... More

We spent 5 nights there. The absolutely nr 1 is the perfect location! It's really awesome - just a few streets from underground station or cable car! There's a good supermarket just around the corner ( 1 minute walking!), a pizzeria, a Subway and the shopping centre also a stone's throw away. The hostel itself is really nice and clean.... More

stayed here for 2 nights with girlfriend in a private room. If you are not too snobby is great (u should not expect luxury from hostels): it is really downtown located, 5 min walk from union square, great prices and they kept our bags for free for the day we had to leave. Also it was quiet, clean and had free... More

Booked AAE Amsterdam well in advance, got good rates on it. They offer discounted parking in a car park two blocks away which is great. Hostel in a fantastic location. Not too noisy but only a 5 minute walk from union square, and about 5-10 minute walk to Polk street where there are a lot of bars. Good washing and... More
